I am not easily impressed but I am continuously amazed at the high level of conversation that appears on these DETROITYES FORUMS. There are lots of reasons that people contribute to these discussions which is as expected. My particular interest is the historical, nostalgic perspective of these FORUMS. The part that really amazes me is the high level of intelligence and research like I have never encountered anywhere. So, now that I’ve patted us all on the back about what a great job we’re doing here I was wondering if there is anything comparable to this about any other city anywhere in the world. I’m sure there are people on this site that know the answer and I’ll take my answer off the air! In case your wondering its a slow date night! :-) |

Any yet you ask why anyone would want to save a portion of Tiger Stadium? Since you obviously like this site and enjoy an historical perspective of some things I must conclude that either a) are not a baseball fan b) never saw a game there or c) are indeed silly. |

don, I suppose since I'm not a baseball fan, then I'm silly. |

Welcome to the forum, Mortal. I'd like to know the same thing. I know I Googled New Zealand Forum and, voila! There are more than two. I guess we could Google Cleveland Forum, Atlanta Forum, etc., and see what we come up with! |

I know there other FORUM like sites but I guess I was asking about ones that are on a par with DetroitYes. Personally I have looked at a number of others but they just don't seem to be up to the level that DetroitYes is at. Comments!? |

sg; Thanks for the link to the Houston forum. Have relatives there. The Houston forum has less political stuff and more general information about a variety of Houston related subjects. Not really a bad idea. |

I am pretty impressed with that Urban St Louis website that Sg9018 linked: At least we're not Detroit I like the last post in this thread: "Although, maybe it's easier for us to just meet up with Detroit and other rust belt buddies at the next happy hour and drown our sorrows in a frosty, foreign owned, American Lager...." Sometimes it is interesting to see what other US city's denizens think of Detroit and its environs, but no surprises really, so far. |

I visit urbanstl (someone else posted a link). It can be slow loading sometimes, but it's very informative. Most posters I've encountered there are very informative. They also tend to be pro-urban and anti-suburban. They're good if you have a question about a building, though it would be best to look it up first online if you can. They also have sections for different areas of the city, with threads about different development projects. |
