Nice article in today's Detroit News giving an interview by young Henry Ford III, the great great grandson of Henry the One-th.

Seems like a well-spoken young man, pursuing his MBA at MIT while working at the family firm.

I had one thought while reading the column, though. His great great grandfather died in 1947, sixty-one years ago. MY great great grandfather (paternal line) died in 1879, 129 years ago. Jeez, am I really that much of a dinosaur? :-)

It must be so nice to have a family business to go into. That kind of legacy and absorbing the entrepreneurial skills while growing up is what's really lacking around here. It's not something easily learned if one's not exposed to it early or if one doesn't have the financial cushion to fail at least once.

Ray 1936, did you know any of the Motorcycle cops over in Highland Park. I remember a few of them.Bo Williams, Robt Bloshes, and maybe a few more.

Jgavrile, no, didn't really know them other than to wave and have small chit chat when our paths crossed.

I wouldn't say so Ray. I'm 32, and my Great Great Grandfather was born in 1850. Married in 1881. I don't have a year of death for him, but my Great Grandfather was b. 1884, and died in 1934 (a result of the damage his lungs received from gassing in WWI). I do know he was dead before his son in 1934. Likely before 1920.

My Grandfather was born in 1860, and I'm not 50 yet.

So he was (or would have been) approximately 100 when you were born?
