Who are your favorite Detroit (thats Metro Detroit) tattoo artists or establishments?

A friend of mine is looking for her first tattoo and has a design picked out, its a really simple dragon.

There was a thread on this in the Connect section. I would say search for it, but honestly the search function here sucks and doesn't seem to be working.

Anyaway...have her check out Chase at XS in Rochester Hills is great. He did my first tattoo this summer. He explained everything in detail, and did an excellent job!!!

Kita formerly of Royal Oak tattoo now resides in Utah but makes trips back.

www.myspace.com/happyvalleytat too

According to Doc Loco's page:
"Everyone (in Michigan) wants to know when we will be back in Detroit.
Currently our plan is to be back around the first of April, 2009.
Kita and I will be available for tattoos and piercings.
You can start working on art and such by emailing through our website http://tat2me.com.
There is a booking agent in Detroit that wants to get me some shows while we are there.
I'll post any dates as soon as they are confirmed."

Hey Dave,
Knew that but didn't want to take away from your post seeing as they had sold. I think they were talking about attempting to open a shop back up here. Getting the art ready for my 12th tattoo in april! (I've used several artists and Kita by far has the softest touch)

Greebo,I have work from Doc and Ed,so I guess I'm impartial....lol.I like Kita's art,but Ed and I have a lot of common tastes.Art,is a very personal thing.I think the place is still strong, there's some new people(VERY talented).I think its top notch. But,thats one tattooed freaks opinion.Dave

Rob @ Sanctuary in Windsor on Dougall Ave, right downtown. Absolutely fantastic especially if you want Japanese art.
He has done all of mine except one.

I'll second Heggie. Although I hear he's pretty pricey these days...

Matt Hessler at XS is also great. He's inked me as well as many of my friends. All great work!

Electric Superstition in Berkley has some of the best, including Jeff Shea. Can this thread be complete without the name Tom Renshaw?
