Walking to work this morning I realized what an embarrassment it is to have so many patches of unshoveled snow on our sidewalks. I'd like to look into starting a petition for a city ordinance allowing fines. They can also charge the slumlord owners of these buildings for snow removal after 24 hours. It's dangerous, it drives people to walk in the street and for people waiting on a bus it must really be a pain.

The city needs revenue and cracking the whip on these owners is long overdue.

There is already an ordinance complete with a fine.

Owners that are letting thier building fall apart aren't going to be bothered with a tiny little fine.
