I would like to look up to see if someone has a judgement against them. I know that car repo judgements are filed in 36th District court, but I was there years ago trying to look up a judgement and I could not figure out the public computers and I had to leave. There were no comprehendable instructions and no one would help.

Is there a way to have a clerk look up a name for you? Is there an instruction for the public computers that anyone here knows?

It has been a very long time but I think you can pay a fee for a clerk to do the work.

Call them and ask.

If you have their SS#, you can find out by running a credit check. If you don't have their SS#, it's probably nunya.

not sure, but I think that criminal judgments are searchable at Frank Murphy (9th floor?)and civil convictions are searchable at Coleman A Young basement. I don't know of an electronic/website judgment search in Wayne county. I'd like to know though.

There is/was an electronic search for judgements. Fee involved. No clue if it's still up. Like I said it has been many years since I did that kind of research
