These are the "shovel-ready" projects the city submitted for consideration of potential money that would be provided by the government. This list does to entail the projects that have been chosen to be completed with Stimulous Money. Please note COBO is not on here.

People sure hate that Rosa Parks Integrated Campus idea. Especially interesting since there is no description of the project, and just a couple racist comments below.

Cobo is not on the list because it is not a shovel-ready project. There may be other reasons, but that one stands out.

The list is a joke. It includes everything that any community put up for funding whether it would qualify or not. A recent article highlighted what some people considered "critical". The top 10 items included artificial grass soccer fields in Kentucky. Do you need to know anything more about how off-base that web site it?

Well, communities were encouraged to throw in projects, and weren't given very much guidance as to what projects will actually be considered. One hint is that money will be disbursed through existing programs - so if a proposed project doesn't fit into any existing program, it's not likely to get any funding.

What the stimulus package is doing, essentially, is adding a bunch of money to various existing project buckets so that more things might be approved for 2009. Of course there will be endless bickering over what "shovel ready" means, and so on.

No, those are not Detroit's requests for stimulus money. That is just a pre-stimulus what-have-you-got project wish list.

The actual requests are on-line at http://www.michigan.gov/gov/0, 1607,7-168-46485_52682---,00.h tml

It appears Detroit did not request stimulus money for either Cobo or the Rosa Parks Campus.
