How come we don't block shots like the Flames do? The flames are laying down left and right while we let these deflections fly at Dom left and right. This has been a reoccurring theme in the last several playoff years. If we don't sacrifice the body to block shots, we mind as well get the hell outta the way to let our goalie make a clean save....?? right? Not to mention the Flames seem to beat us to every puck..... and we just jockey for the position to check the player who beat us to the puck!!!! The Flames may be faster, but we dominate in puck control. Unfortunately, we are not moving the puck right now. Our stars are not stealing the puck like they typically do in the regular season. Furthermore, the flames are penetrating deep into our zone, stalling the puck against the boards for long enough to set something up, and creating scoring chances. When they get into a pinch, they simply throw the puck to an open space and, Viola, a new Flame is the first one on that puck.... ALWAYS!!! Not to mention the fact that they are moving the puck into our zone quickly, where we try and slip into the zone and set up from the blue line. How many dump ins from the flames are reached first by a Flame???? the answer is most!! Lang doesn't back check that much, and Datsyuk and Zetterberg were nowhere to be found this game. There was no break out plays like we are used to seeing (the little pass to the slot where a player of ours is waiting), tons of giveaways on the wings part, samuellson shooting a low percentage shot when he should be setting a play up, and finally some weak officiating by the refs. That call on Datsyuk when he lightly tapped the Flame on a breakaway being called a hook was a joke. It is so annoying to see one Wings team one night and see another the next night!! I do not blame the Line switching that Babcock is doing. These guys have had several opportunities to play with everyone, so that is not a problem. |

Calgary sucks on the road, is awesome at home. That issue has a lot to do with that. |

It is so frustrating to think this will have to go to 7 games with that idea behind it!! |

The Wings only let up 21 shots on him, Detroit had over 35. |

Well the Wings won handily today-had Calgary running around all afternoon. Now it will be interesting to see how the Flames play tomorrow facing elimination. It's much different when you're a game away from going home. |
