Both were the best (college) pitchers coming out the draft the year they were drafted.

This may seem hard to believe but Andrew Miller is further along then Verlander 12 months after being drafted.

Verlander had a few appearance in '05 but was hit hard (I really remember a game vs. CLE).

Miller has been impressive in his 3 starts so far.

Miller has a huge upside.

He could really develop in '08 or '09.

Won't it be incredible to have a left handed Miller to go with the right handed Verlander. And Bonderman and Rogers if he pitches next year.

I'm almost willing to bet these two guys keep Rogers young!

Don't forget Percello if they get him signed.

Miller and Verlander are about on the same path. dont forget that Miller got shelled and was very wild in his stint in 06.

He will be good if he can develop a curve and
change up. I think they said last night he threw 88 pitches and 82 were fastballs.
He cant live on that forever.

Did you see him throwing though? They couldn't hit his fastball, so why go to one of your weaker pitches when they can't hit your best pitch? Pudge just kept calling the fastball since the Braves hitters couldn't find it.

One thing about his fast ball. It apparently has enough action to behave as a different pitch.

A fast fastball with no action will get hit unless the pitcher has other pitches to confuse the batter and can locate it.
