To anyone that appreciates true greatness I strongly urge them to watch Roger Federer the # 1 tennis player in world this week at the US Open. He's playing American Andy Roddick tomorrow and to repeat the old phrase-He's worth the price of admission.
Every so often someone comes along and in their sport inspires awe. Federer is one of those athletes. I've seen some great ones: Joe Namath & Montana,Michael Jordan, Mark Spitz, Guy LaFleur & Bobby Orr,Carl Lewis,Tiger Woods and in tennis Pete Sampras & Bjorn Borg but Roger Federer is really special to watch. I urge you to watch him play-you may just be looking at the greatest ever to play his game. His match last night in NYC was amazing-he was on the ropes for awhile but elevated his game to another level and left his opponent Feliciano Lopez shaking his head. Lopez may have played his best match ever but but still couldn't stop Federer. Of the four major "Grand Slam " Tennis tournaments, Federer has reached the finals of the last nine over 2 plus years & won seven of them! This steak goes back to the 2005 Wimbledon championships. FYI... he & the Swede Borg are the only men to win it 5 years in a row!
Even you're not a bigtime fan of the game-you'll appreciate how good he truly is. Greatness is greatness no matter what the sport-watch him play, you won't regret it

Simply the best....(post after defeating Roddick). Class act to boot. Very humble.

Well he won the final today-not his greatest performance but like a great pitcher without his best fastball,he was great enough when the chips were down. With 12 grand Slam titles he's two behind all time leader Pete Sampras.
