You CANNOT,I repeat CANNOT get beat twice in your own home, lose 4 straight, and consider yourself elite!

This kid Mallett is going to be very, very good. Dont let Carr ruin his career. Fire Carr NOW!

We need an offensive coach, not a MICHIGAN MAN.

For the record, I didnt go to Michigan, but I've been a fan for a long, long time. I believe the QB was Demetrius Brown.Yea, that long.

Anyways, We've got to get rid of him

Perhaps we should tie this thread into one of the others and just realize it's never a good idea to purchase an American Carr?

Keep up the good work, Michigan; State fans are loving every minute of this pathetic playtime you refer to as football.

Yeah Public, and who is really gonna look pathetic when we still beat you?

But yes, fire Carr. Either effective immediatly, which would be a real slap in the face (not allowing him the chance to beat OSU and win a bowl game), or at the end of the season.

We haven't won since Bo died. Can you say curse?

Today, I consider myself a gleaming alum. Especially after watching all of the sad faces in Ann Arbor on the television.

Caught a friend of mine in one of the shots after an Oregon touchdown, don't think I've ever seen him look so dejected. How sweet it is!

Mackinaw, if Michigan keeps playing like they did today, they will be lucky to win 5 games all season.

Henne and Hart both left the game injured; this is not the first time that Hart has left hurt. The defense looks like swiss cheese, and the offense couldn't score with strippers after a Duke lacrosse party. They look pathetic, and it's quite enjoyable to see such a highly touted rival fail at every aspect of the game.

What is that beautiful sound I hear? It's the annual "Fire Lloyd" whining from Ann Arbor and U-M fans. It's a terrible shame it’s coming so early in the year, too.

In my opinion, Lloyd can stay as long he wants. My guess, though, is that he's gone November 4th after a heartbreaking loss in the E.L.

GO GREEN!!!!

Remember two years ago when MSU was 3-0, UM was struggling, and State was absolutely positive they were going to destroy Michigan? How'd that work out?

Lloyd will probably go at the end of this year, by choice, as he's been anticipated to do by those close to the program.

Despite the two losses this year and the recent OSU and bowl losses, Carr has a coaching record that very few coaches can match. And don't underestimate the importance at UM of running a program w/o scandal (ala Frieder).

I'm as frustrated as any fan but I'd give Carr a little more slack to get things righted. He's earned it.

Michigan is a program where going 9-3 is considered a .500 season. 8-4 is a losing season, 10-2 is a winning season, 11-1 is very good and only 12-0 is great. We are a bit spoiled.

Good post track75. To who ever said Mich can't afford or won't pay for Les Miles is wrong.Mich can afford to pay anyone and usually gets what it wants.

Lloyd Carr has earned the right to leave on his terms. Les Miles would be a great choice. He has Mich in his past but would not be a part of the inbreeding that has given us Carr and Moeller( also a damn good coach) Miles breaks that mold while still having Michigan ties.

Boo Fucking Hoo, the mighty big blue M blew another game. Will history show that in 2007 they produced doctors who aided mankind through research and the daily care of the ill, engineers who revolutionized the way things are made, how much energy they now don't use and how we can live more productively?
Will the University be remembered to have produced teachers who begin to make public schools a source of pride in the country, lawyers who fight to keep our rights intact in such treacherous times, or will history record that the big blue M did not move a ball down a field successfully?

rip!, rip!, rip! the chipmunk off the field!

#5 Wisconsin (2-0) just won their game this morning in LV.

A rumor even before the game ended during the radio coverage of the UM game stated that the Notre Dame vs. UM game won't get national coverage due to lack of interest already.

Yahoo sports had this:
quote:

In ESPN's "Bottom 10" rankings last week the Wolverines and Irish were labeled the fifth- and 10th-worst teams in all of the Bowl Subdivision (formerly Division I-A).

You might as well start the "ov-er-ra-ted" chants now.

"It's quite enjoyable to see such a highly touted rival fail at every aspect of the game."

Is it? That's such an MSU thing. Around here, we like our highly touted rival, Ohio State, to win every game leading up to our game, when we can have a shot to beat them when the stakes are highest. It's called respect (for their football program). Don't worry, we enjoy your annual second-half losing steaks just as much, the only difference is you're not highly touted and you're not a rival.

Quit being ignorant, Danny. The Big Ten season hasn't even started, nothing regarding the Rose Bowl has been won or lost yet.

Mackinaw, if this UM team can win the Big Ten then the Big Ten should be a Division 1-AA conference! That would say a whole lot more about how poor Big Ten football is than it would about UM.

This isn't just a bad start for UM, it's a bad team. That defense is slow as molasses! Did you read the article that Oregons coach ripped UM:

U-M's D 'looked slow'; Bellotti: 'We could have got on them worse'
Even on film, Wolverines fail to impress
http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs .dll/article?AID=/20070909/SPO RTS06/709090704&imw=Y

The UM arrogance is really amazing! Rose Bowl? LOL

I wouldn't want to see this team or last years team or the year before that in the Rose Bowl, they would get blown out and embarrassed again.

Look Maize and Bluer's....schemes like the 'Fab 5 experiment' will never happen again at the prestigious University of Michigan.

At the time Michigan was on their way to recruiting the most gifted and talented athletes in 'amerikkka' in basketball and football, the top money sports...regardless to concerns of academic standards in the schools admission laws....but the investigation of 'Fab 5' debacle curtailed the scheme. Recruiting under qualified (inner city) academe athletes to boost thier sports programs to the highest reward (National Championships) was the predicate for the scheme.

Bill Martin has gave 'LORD CARR' the good ole' boys 'pat on the back'...so then, things will continue steady in the halls of Maize and Blue.

U of M is still one of the elite college football programs in the entire nation. Carr will soon retire gracefully. He will then be replaced by a 'Bo Clon'...they will continue to recruit nice suburbian kids from top rated suburbian areas, in which Michigan will continue their typical 10-2 or 10-3 seasons, going to money bowls, getting TV contracts and packing the Big House with 100+ thousand.

blksoul-atcha!

He acts/talks when interviewed as if he's ready to go. My guess, he'll retire after the regular season, perhaps, just before/after whatever midscale bowl game UM gets.

And Alvarez of the Badgers will probably go from his AD spot there to Nebraska as AD if he also coaches.

Screw you.

Were you there yesterday? Do you have any stake in this other than observing and reveling in others' misery?

Lloyd isn't being fired, which is what this thread was all about. He has surely realized the same thing as many other people-- it is time to retire.

He put a banged up team that took two psychological blows in September into a position to go to the Rose Bowl. Then they arrived at the big day and lost the fundamental battle on the offensive line, which was to much to overcome with hobbled stars. It's a shame that the best running back ever never beat Ohio. It's a shame that an entire class never beat Ohio. I'm sure that Carr agrees with this; I'm sure he knows that he's lost some of his magic. He will do the right thing at 10am tomorrow.

But I want you to admit that you never thought they'd be fighting for the Big Ten title on the last day of the season when you started this thread on 9/8.

Clearly I didnt, most of us that posted earlier in the season didnt. Reveling in someone's misery?? Dude, get a grip, it's sports, not life.

If you think this isnt a firing, you're fooling yourself! Carr has acquired too much political clout and goodwill to be fired in the traditional sense, but when has Michigan had a coaching opening without a clear successor?

Im a fan of the program, have been for a while, but again, when you lose to App State, the worse loss in D-1 history, and then lose to Buckeye nation ....again, its your time.

If Les Miles wasn't out there, Carr would probably stay.

I couldn't agree more with your last paragraph, but Carr knew it was his time.

Tell all of Michigan nation to get a grip. Michigan football is a culture and an institution. OSU is an amazing rivalry and its miserable for all involved when you lose to them.

After hearing Lloyd on the radio earlier today (an interview on Stoney & Wojo), it sounded as though he told Bo last year that this was going to be his last year. Bo wanted him to stay but Lloyd was ready. Regardless of the horrific losses to Appalachian State, Oregon & OSU- he already knew. He made his choice long before any of those games. The games were wearing thin on him and while he still cared deeply about his players, he knew when it was time to leave.

And not meaning to stir the controversy any worse, I still don't think the Michigam loss is the worst in collegiate history- it may have been the worst loss in Michigan history but for collegiate football, I think the USC loss to a totally unheralded Stanford was worse. At least Appalachian State has a solid program and a winner in their division; Stanford wasn't even supposed to be on anyone's radar and still beat a perrennial powerhouse like USC.
