The Wings won game 6 in Nashville 3-0 to take their 1st round series 4 games to 2. They now wait for other series to finish to see whom they play next. It will be either the Colorado Avalanche or Calgary Flames.
The defending Cup champs the Anaheim Ducks are out they went down in 6 game to Dallas. Right now it looks good for the Wings to get to the conference finals. GO WINGS! !

Go Wings, I was elated to see Nashville go down. One more slush pond behind us, off to play on some real ice.

YAY!

Way to go Nicklas Lindstrom with that shot from over center ice after the face off right into the net.

The Red Wings has reported that the ice in the stadium is very rough that their they have to out some hard pressure in the razor sharp blades. The Wings did some damage checking on the predators. Even they beat them a couple times during the regular season.

Calgary won and forced a 7th game against the Sharks. So we'll have to wait a bit before knowing the next opponent. If the Flames pull the upset it will help the Wings a lot reducing travel. I'm convinced last year's years travel had a lot to do with Detroit being eliminated by Anaheim. 1st round Calgary 2nd San Jose & conference finals: Anaheim-that's a ton of air miles.
