What grades were in 113 and 114? I was in 102 for 1st grade, 108 for 2nd, 109 for 3rd, and 100 for 4th grade, which was the room that united the two sides of the school back then, but I don't know where the other 4th grade rooms were.
I was in 115 for 5th, and over the gym for 6th in Sr. Paul Therese's room, with Mr. McAdams next door. Oddly enough, I don't remember the room numbers for 7th and 8th. I know that my home room in 8th was the last room on the Maddelein side where the doors emptied into the blacktop in front of the convent. In 7th I was on the Maddelein side, but on the inside of the hall facing a courtyard, I think.

Jcole: My first thought was fifth, but it makes more sense to be fourth. My fourth was in 100 too, and my fifth I think in 115 too. So were the other 4th grade rooms 113,114 and 116? From there 5th, 115, 117, 118 and 119. Sixth 120-123, Seventh 124-127 and Eighth 128-131? But the two gym rooms had numbers too, and I think those numbers were 131 and 132.

Another thought: Was Room 100 originally a larger room split into two rooms?

Another mystery. Cool! Must redouble my efforts to locate report cards. This will fill in some of the blanks.

To summarize what I am confident about we have:
Grade 1: Rooms, 101, 102, 104 and 105.
Grade 2: Rooms, 103, 106, 107 and 108.
Grade 3: Rooms, 109, 110, 111 and 112.
Grade 4: Rooms, 100, ___, ___, ___
Grade 5: Rooms, 115,
Grade 6:
Grade 7:
Grade 8:

Mr. Dull was 7th grade. Believe me, ask any girl at St. Jude, and she'll remember Mr. Dull. He drove a brand new Mustang when we were in 7th grade.

8th grade was Sr. Joyce, Mr. Joseph, Miss Poenessa, and Sr. Marie Christine, with the hearing aid. We tortured that poor woman by whispering in art class, and she'd go out in the hall, turn up her hearing aid, and then we'd talk REALLY LOUD. God, we were rotten.

Z, yeah, but no heart stopping this time:-)

I remember push starting Mr. Joseph's convertible. It might have been a Camaro.

Think I had Sr. Ruth Adamites for 8th grade, room 128.

I remember an incident I think it was 8th grade and Miss Poanessa in one her squealing moments went out and got a male teacher to address Mark Ulatowski, and whomever it was (I think Mr. Dull) came in the room and bitch slapped him in the face right in front of everyone. Can you imagine how much that would cost him today?

Poanessa was constantly running over to Mr. Joseph, "Roger, can you please come talk to my class"
As to Mark Ulatowski, that wasn't the first time Mr. Dull nailed him. He had him in the hall up against the lockers one time in 7th grade, holding him about 6 inches off the ground, and slamming his head into the locker, saying 'Say your sorry' over and over. Mark wouldn't say sorry.

Yes some of the teachers got a little rough, but I lost two good teachers to nervous breakdowns because of the abuse they were getting, one in 6th and one in 8th. One was a nun!

Thanks for all the great news - and wonderful memories. I was out of the loop today and enjoyed the catch-up. Hope you like the attached picture.
Room 130-131 were the Gym room numbers - and my memory of Mr. McAdams was having him lean WAAAAY back in his chair - and taking a header - Can still remember the look on his face.

The bidding on the hat starts at a half-bushel of fresh Iowa sweetcorn, a month's supply of Buccilli's pizzas, or a 12-pack of Kodachrome film.

Unfortunately, Bucilli's no longer makes pizza in Almont. I'd have to travel north for that.

We have a Hungry Howie's and a place called Rosa's, neither one of which is great. There is a Buscemi's in Romeo.
For non-pizza, we have a bar called The Huddle that does a good burger and has good specials throughout the week.
Not much else.
A greasy spoon for breakfast and another bar with the usual stuff.
Someone is putting in a Coney Island soon, tho.

Oh, and I forgot to mention Charlie Brown's, a kind of Tastee Freez, with pretty decent chili dogs and quick sandwiches.

Let me know when Coney's is open. The one on Van Dyke and 11 1/4 left us in the dust a few years back when "Tom and Geri" retired after 30 years. Owners always want customer loyalty, but what about owner loyalty?!

If you want good Coneys on the Van Dyke corridor, go to Phoenix at Van Dyke and 17 1/2. Great coneys and the best gyros ever, even better than Golden Fleece.

7 KID is correct. Room 112 was the last classroom on the Maddeleine side (north west corner of the school) prior to the 4 classrooms facing Rex being built. I believe those 4 classrooms became available in the fall of 63. You're right about the statutes in the niche in the building. When did they arrive if ever? The fall of 63 was also the first time the PA system was used. It also had an intercom back to the office. When Sr. Robert Marie would leave the room usually some aware student would announce "be quiet, they can hear you"

I believe the upper gym classes were the 130s

Trivia: What were the room numbers of the portables? What year were the portables replaced?
What was the room number of the classroom in basement of the church (the choir practice room)
Jokerman should know.
