Izzo spoke with Joe Rexrode of the Lansing State Journal this morning and basically squashed this. He said what he always says when his name comes up for another job. He says he'd sit down and listen, but he has not been contacted and he actually groaned when he heard the comment about him growing "restless" in East Lansing. He's not going anywhere. |

Furthermore, Bulls management let Scott Skiles go when the team stopped responding to his level of intensity; Izzo has the same style. |

It's funny...any of the good coaches available are all similar in style to Scott Skiles. Oops. |

Can anyone really see Tom Izzo leaving MSU anytime soon? He rules the place. He recruits wonderfully, is king of all he surveys, has respect there and nationally. How much money would an NBA team have to pony up for him to bolt all of that? Trade in all of that (and I'm not saying it's an easy job) to deal with the rigors of an NBA campaign? It'd take a boatload or small armada's worth of money I'd bet. Not unless he got restless and wanted a new challenge (supposedly if he wanted to- they'd even let him coach MSU football!) would I even see Izzo even thinking remotely of leaving MSU Basketball. |
