Proud U of D (pre-the addition of the M) alumnus here. UDM has made some significant strides in the athletic department recently. They hired a new athletic director, who appears to be doing a great job (and is one of very few female ADs in D1). They built a new track and field and are adding men's and women's lacrosse. Perhaps most importantly, they hired Ray McCallum, an assistant at IU, as the new men's basketball coach and he has brought in some decent, if maybe a little risky, recruits (http://www.detroittitans.com/m basketball.jsp?id=121019660875 5). Will these strides be enough to increase community support of Titan athletics? Will we soon see Calihan Hall filled to capacity on a regular basis? |
