I was amazed while researching Joe Louis's life a few years ago that the papers ran stories about him having a circumcision (this was around 1936 or so, just before he beat Braddock to win the title). one of the few downsides of being a professional athlete is that you're a public figure, so everything about you is fair game for the press. |
