Sheed is the one with a "1" next to his name above. :-)

Oh wow, Senior moment...my bad :-) In that case, you didn't put McDyess up there lol. Honestly, I wouldn't cry too for either Wallace, or McDyess going. I like Dyess, but not as a starter, he was great coming off the bench, but he doesn't bring that energy that a starter needs to bring.

Wallace and Billups for a 4 or 5, bench player, and a draft pick.

Nope--Billups stays: from where are you going to get a 1 to match with, much less upgrade from Billups?

Dear Pistons: Please note, if you are looking to a reason for your recent failures to advance to the Finals, please watch the way the Red Wings demonstrated that no matter who you are or where you've been you cannot take anything for granted or rest on your laurels to pull you through.

Thank you and enjoy the Finals from your Barqs.

From our bench, Rodney Stuckey. He's shown he's ready and can lead the team. With a new coach, there will be a new offense, so it's not like Chauncey would be light-years ahead, as far as knowing the scheme. And Stuckey is better at getting his shot than Chauncey is these days.

Radio rumor today. Miami Heat discussing giving up their No. 2 pick and a couple of players for Billups and Maxiel. Pistons could take Beasley with that pick. Comments?

If they could get Beasley I'd make the trade but everything I'm hearing now is that Chicago will take Beasley over Rose.

Dumars is rumored to be talking with half a dozen teams for a trade. One is about trying to get Carmello Anthony. Stay tuned, a trade or two could happen any day.

Before any of this trade stuff is even going to happen, wouldn't it be somewhat prudent of Joe Dumars to announce a head coach first??

Perhaps in your eyes, but not in his. Besides he probably has a coach already. Mike Curry has got the line on the job. This is no secret.

Joe Dumars has always held his cards close to the vest. All of this stuff (trades, coaches, etc.) that's heard on sports talk radio is just speculative. Unless you hear it from the source- namely Joe Dumars, all of it is conjecture. Anyone remember how we were going to get Kobe Bryant last year? How many rumors have actually become fact over the years? I'd say there are many more rumors floating around than fact right now.

I think if Dumars was bringing in a Larry Brown type he might want him on board first to have some input (or at least agreement) on players being brought in, but with a less senior coach I don't think it is as important.

Go to espn.com and click on NBA, look for the interview with Steve Smith saying Mike Curry will be named as head coach and all the players want and respect him.

2.5 million a yr. for a rookie coach. Coaching salaries have really escalated in the last few yrs.

And for three years too, 401don.

I'd be curious to see who else they're going to get for assistants seeing as how Terry Porter's off to Phoenix.

Lindsay Hunter for one. Nowadays, there's like 6 assistants on an NBA bench. It's funny watching all the suits come out and stand around on time outs.

Did they announce Hunter is an asst. coach? I must have missed it.

No, I'm just basing it on the talk during the playoffs that Lindsay would retire and become a full-time asst next yr. Curry will need a good veteran asst also. I'd like to see Brendan Malone back but I think he's still with the Magic.

401. I agree completely. Hunter would be an excellent addition to the coaching staff.
