The writer of the HNIC theme song failed to come to terms with the CBC to renew the rights to the song known as "The Theme from Hockey Night in Canada." He used to get $500 every time CBC played the song. As a result CTV, owners of TSN (The Sports Network), has bought the rights. So you will only hear it on Canadian cable/satellite. End of a long-standing tradition. |
