It was a really big shoow. Let's hear it for the Singing Nun. I saw that movie at a private screening when my dad was in charge of licensing for the city. I got to take my friend Terri Dugan. It was somewhere in the City-County(CAY)building. Yes, Z, more Forest Gumping going on. |

Thanks for sharing this KR! BTW, am I the only one who noticed that Ed Sullivan is actually John McCain's father? The posture and the mannerisms are identical. |

7K:...." Eat his body, drink his blood and we'll sing a song of love, alleu, alleu, alleuia" I got the impression those lyrics are best left out of the rap venue. |

The unholy trinity (those people) from those "eastside" (quarantined) threads must be rolling over in their living graves reading all this. |

7K: Yes, you are the only one who noticed Ed Sullivan was actually John McCain's father. He probably has a greater chance of being Obama's grandfather. |

If anyone still wants to know, the name of the bar on Celestine and McCrary was the "Half Century"..I used to be on the girls softball team sponsored by them in 72-76...we were called the "Satin Sluggers" and I was one of the pitchers...Had a LOT of fun in that place...does anyone remember Cozy Corners? or " Mr. M's" a disco up on Gratiot by 7 mile? |

Faircoma: Thanks for posting: You mentioned the bar on Celestine and MacCrary. Those streets ran parallel. Are you referring to the one that was mentioned on Glenwood and Celestine? There seemed to be hundreds of bars in that area. Cozy Corner sounds really familiar. What corner was that on? BTW, What field did the Satin Sluggers play softball? |

Faircoma: You may have played softball at Heilmann during the era I worked as a life guard (1973 and 1974). There were a ton of leagues/teams that played there is the 70s weren't there? BTW, Nice uni. Did you live in the Saint Jude parish area? |

Cozy Corner was on 7 Mile I believe 1 block west of Fantasy Bowling so this would have put it on Maccrary. This was a fav hangout for the eastside firemen |

Now 7 as stimulating as these posts have been recently it compares little to the awe inspiring topics being discussed by our esteemed eastside and yes quarantined brothers. I for one did not know a horse could be left or right side brained! Maybe we should be nice to them and go over to their side and play with them again? I propose we do so only if they play Red Rover, Red Rover with us and ask nicely. |

Perhaps we should seek out the reasons for their behavior...maybe then we would understand them better. Instead of always cutting them down, should we not try and boost their self esteem? |

From where I sit, I don't think lack of self esteem in their problem, quite the contrary. But considering the humanitarian I am, I would be willing to rise above their contempt and reach out to help their poor misguided waning years. |

KR: I'm no horse whisperer, you might want to consult the experts on the ES threads. Horse brains and manure seem to be their specialty. |

The above pic was taken at a 1967 St. Jude parish picnic in a Macomb County Park (Farm?) At the time it seemed like a million miles away. I believe Jimmy Haybarth (from Saratoga between Rex and Redmond) is on keyboards. |

Great picture, KR,but I don't remember picnics in Macomb county. About where would that have been? Near Mt Clemens or up around the Romeo area? |
