I can't believe Migs made it all the way home from first...of course, there were two outs, so that helped.

Let's keep saying Sheffield sucks...I think we're on to something here.

I believe Rod just said of Betencourt: He's also allowed some inherited runs from runners he's inherited when he's come in.

Brilliant!

Ah, The mole's out of his hole. Nice of you to come out for some air, even if it is to just snipe once in while. This is a seasoned bunch when it comes to name calling, so that's won't intimidate anyone, you can go through the other Eastside threads for evidence of that if you can survive the tedium.

Well I believe 7 asked you a question about Dark Knight, we're anxiously waiting with bated breath to hear your review Mr. Ebert.

the dark knight was a great movie, but it could have ended 1/2 hour earlier. they are setting it up to have a sequel - won't tell anymore than that. i truly believe heath ledger should get at least best supporting actor.

yep, too bad.
have been reading the church bulletins on the website, and see they are having a picnic in harper woods. i remember having picnics at the playfield, and wonder if the church still owns that block. don't think you would want a picnic there now, though.

i for one don't remember either place. and since my dad was an avid golfer, can't believe I don't know the pro-am golf mart, but have a feeling they were between the old Chatham and E. State Fair.

According to Google Earth, the Pro shop was at the end of State Fair, and Foxy Lady at the end of Novara, next to what is now R Gang party store. I don't remember a bar there when we were kids. I thought that block may have had Mueller's shoes and Junior Boot Shop.
BTW, when driving home yesterday, I passed another R Gang Party store on Hayes Rd at Utica Rd. I wonder if they are related.
Z, with you 'connections' maybe you could call and find out.

I didn't know we were the 'Industrial Eastside'
I always thought we were the 'Middle Class Eastside'
Hmm.

I have to brush up on my Arabic so this time the conversation makes sense. Are you sure the store wasn't R Gang II because I think I saw something on the web when I was trying to get the phone number to the one on Kelly.

Could have been. I was driving by, so I was trying not to hit anyone and read at the same time.

Hey Laing, I see you dipped your toe in the cesspool. Good luck.

Don't know why the ES boys can't conduct mature, intellectual discourse as we do here. Must be our parochial education.

JC: Perhaps EB can tie together American motel's description of the east side as "industrial" with its famous roof top symbol. EB, please keep it under 100 words.

Z, I learned to drive at 15. I got my license at 18. There is a difference. Maybe the lag between learning and be allowed to drive explains things.
