Zitro: I just seen all the McClains at a graduation party. (John,Mary,Robert,Ron,George,L inda) All are doing well. As to the barber shop there is a Fountainview on Kelly, 1/2 block north of 9 mile. I will ask the owner's son if they were somewhere else before this location. Between 7 and 8 mile I only remember Clete's. Diane: I wonder where you can get that St. Jude spray. (that is too much!

FV, I may have missed this, but what part of the parish were you from? And roughly what years did you attend SJS

Jcole: I lived on Novara between Redmond and Rex. SJS class of 1977. I do not know about twin Wahoski boys. Jcole do you remember any Schultz's from the area? They would be Denby grads circa the 50's.

FV: The barbershop I'm talking about was on Kelly right about where State Fair ended. One of the barbers was a Ruggerri who's brothers Frank & Rudy own Frank's Market on Boulder.

fvfromd, the Schultz's you mention, did they go to SJS? I lived next door to a Schultz family on Laing that did not go to SJS, had 3 sons, Tom, Richard (I think), and the youngest was Hank. They may have been in that age range.

z, thanks for asking. actually he left today to go back - he is starting his final year there, then he has a 5 year military committment - looking like now he will go the submarine route. he said he is not adverse to making it a career. we had a great summer - he was home for all of it but 1 1/2, so this afternoon am feeling kind of lonely. our youngest, will be a sophomore, goes back to Tn Tech 8-26, which is about 1 1/2 hr east of Nashville. Will still see him on weekends, but times, they are changing.

Good for him though, it's nice to see at least some our young adults these days are willing to work hard and do something noble for our country.
Not quite at the total empty nest stage but getting close. Not really looking forward to it to tell you the truth.

funny thing is, my wife and i were talking the other night about when our youngest goes back to school. it will seem like we will need to get to know each other again - not having to worry about what they are doing, where they are, etc. yep, sort of looking forward to it. makes ya wonder how our parents thought?

I'm with you guys on the loneliness track. I'm single and down in Houston and know only 2 people down here. Wish I was back home in the trenches with you all filching alley rocks, playing helper's tag, keep away and quarters. I miss Detroit even if it's scarier. I know where everything is up there. BooHooHoo........:-(

Anyhoo...I knew a Ruggeri and some kid named Sam Impeli(something or other).

Fvfromd: I am racking my brain as to what your last name is because I knew pretty much every name from my graduating class of '77at SJS.

I think the St. Jude spray would be nice for you guys' gym lockers. I mean P ever lovin' U! Dang! Do some laundry already! Fresh socks would be nice, too! No wonder the school closed. It's probably quarantined with a hazmat suit warning on all the doors. :-) :-) :-)

diane, i have been living outside of Nashville since the summer of 82. my dad died in 1999, and my mom jan 1, 2004. still have a sister in roseville, but we haven't seen each other since mom's funeral. just one of those things. after the house sold, there really isn't anything pulling me to detroit. not the same city i knew. always loved going to St. Jude's, but the interior is changed too. had a boss at Allstate in Southfield who always said the only thing that stays the same is change.

It sure makes it a lot easier to laugh at the tragedy that's unfolding with the Kwamster from afar not living there. What a total embarrassment this situation is.

I so agree. What a farce and travesty his mayorship is.

12468_Laing-I'm sorry about your mom and dad. Gee, Nashville, Fellow Southerner albeit a northern transplant.I've been to Knoxville, Cleveland and Chatanooga. Then right into the top part of Georgia where Cloudland Canyon Park is. Gorgeous overlooks there and the reddest clay, too. Meet you for a sweet tea sometime.

On the bright side, Todd Jones did not blow a save tonight.
