Has anyone measured the methane content in the air around Prescott? If only you could bottle it, think of all the cars you could power. |

There are a helluva lot of horses out here...most of our neighbors have at least a couple...not too many steers anymore but some longhorns. I understand that the alternative energy program at MSU focuses on the use of methane...that's understandable. |

GB: Wasn't Tango in the Welding business - before he moved in with you and ST? He would just back up to the job and light up and weld on for about 37 minutes. |

GB: Did you have a big cherry tree in your back yard on Fordham? I seem to recall a gang of us climbing it and eating the cherries until your mother chased us off. Too bad you didn't have Tango then. One blast would have emptied the whole tree. But then who would want to eat them after that? |

Good luck Mary Ann...you're lucky, the address Z gave you is the only class that seems to have a website...so you might get lucky at finding your friends...most of us are 10-15 years ahead of you and some have trouble finding their way home much less old friends...for example, OD was trying to get home from Key West and ended up in Houston...its sad to hear the old guys deteriorate. |

MAJ: OD got to Houston using a compass he stole from GB at scout camp in the 50's .... He fell on it when being chased by the cops at Ballduck several years later and it never really work quite right ..... We should post OD's new Houston address... |

MAJ: GB thought he got lucky once, but it turned out to be SE59. Only woman who would have anything to do with him... until the day after the wedding. The 150 mile detour from Dallas to San Antonio via Houston was because DR just had to see her little friend in Houston (who she had just seen a week ago in MI). Neither one of them believed me when I told them a straight line is the shortest distance between two points. But then, neither one of them went to Denby either. The girls got two hours to visit, and I got an extra 4 hours driving time. GB: What about the cherry tree? Or have you deteriorated so much can’t you remember a few posts back in the thread? ES: GB and his compass were always about three sheets into the wind which explains why he could never find his way back to Fordham after he left it. |

OD: Sorry...got distracted...sometimes happens easily...yup, there was a cherry tree in our backyard...I don't know why she ran us off...don't remember the incident...she sometimes went off on strange bents. When I was younger I used to pick them and sell them door to door...made good money doubling the price on Mapleridge. |

GB: It’s possible your mother didn’t run us off. We were chased out of so many places when we were young I may have confused the cherry tree experience with something else. I do remember that the cherries were very good though. A lot better than anything you can buy in the store today. |

Father Banana Head: It was you who sold those cherries at $3.00 a half pint .... all bruised ... smashed and wilted ..... Taking advantage of us NON catholics on Mapleridge .... Weren't they sold as a fund raiser for SJSchool ????? You con artist! probably learned that from 7&K in religion class |

ES: I was just "earning my way to college"...a poor working class boy with a work ethic. I did learn right away to be sure to pick them with the stems on...needed fewer to fill a pint. Tried later on to sell them as an aphrodesiac but that didn't work too well...nor did the marketing technique as a "re-virginizer". |

ES: The cherries should have taught you never to trust GB. He only sold the ones that fell off the tree because it was easier to pick them off the ground than climb the tree for the good ones. |

Zitro... Sabre: Yeah, I guess we were that young once upon a time...young and stupid. Others have yet to grow up...ES is one...I'm convinced that its due to his Haight-Ashbury days...that or he's into early Alzheimers...take everything he says with a grain of salt. OD is more stable but he gets lost alot...he tried to get back to MI by way of Houston, TX. The two of them really are a sad pair of characters. I lived on Fordham near Chalmers...ES and OD lived on Mapleridge...all three of us went to Columbus Elementary...where did you live? |

Sabre: GB has been in rehab since he met SE59 - He even purchased a Valiant - Can you believe that ... a Valiant. He spent most of his HS days hanging with ..... I will let him explain who he hung out that were part of the first ever individuals to join the TARS cheerleading team .... I will try to locate the photo which shows this individual which is part of this thread as a photo.... OD did escape to CA for a while and can be believed - Ask GB what recent award he received that now hangs in his living room ..... |

Hi Olddetroiter..thanx...If my former organization the UAW had half of GB's spunk they wouldn't be in the mess that they are in now..... Goblue...Yep, we were young and stupid, but in those days, after Denby, I got a job a Chrysler...After layoff, went to WMU and went into the military; Here's the point of this rant, it took me until I was a 10 year Captain to earn what I earned at that job at Chrysler (normal factory rat), and the pay was NOT bad in the Army. I have never had a job that equaled the benefits that I had at Chrysler (free medical, dental 10 bucks a visit, glasses 20 bucks up to a 300 dollar pair...it's sad that our generation pissed it all away, after our fathers fought (blood was spilled) so hard to gain said pay and benefits for themselves and us. Also, while I'm ranting, if ES did in fact go to Haight Ashbury, he would be one rich SOB right now. I went twice in the middle '70s. Those former hippies not only run San Francisco right now, but they have made huge sums in the process of gaining said power....check out craig list sometime to see what I mean. One friend of mine, Tony Leopardo, was a Jr Exec at Chrysler, when they sent him out to SF. In less than a year he quit his job there, in less than 2 years he had made just under 2 million net, and all legitimately (started out buying and fixing up structurally sound houses that looked like hell, and then reselling them). He now owns a specialty car plant (ie builds a '29 Stutts to customer specs) and a magazine. Eastside....nobody buys a valiant. Actually, joining the TARS cheerleading team would be a wise move, for a teen, in that you are the only guy with all of the girls...well, never mind.... Goblue...again...hee..hee...I live in the Socialist Paradise of Germany...Espelkamp in Nord Rhein Westfalin to be exact. I got out of the military in '93, just no fun anymore without the old Soviet Union although Iraq was interesting....A loooong story why I "Europeaned out" but suffice to say that I really had no choice. I'm trying to get back home this year though. We shall see...... Oh, and one more thing while I'm in a ranting mood...If anyone tells you how good workers have it in Europe...shoot them. Just two examples of thousands; 1) Basic overtime in Michigan is time and a half (ie 150% of wage) but here it used to be time and a quarter (125%) and then they'd tax your total wage at about 40%. After brother Schroder, overtime pay has been eliminated, period. Germany has the highest gross wage per hour in the world. Unfortunately, after the direct taxes and indirect (ie they tax the air here, I'm not kidding, radio tax, television tax, computer tax, modem tax, etc) you are lucky to net about 35% of your gross income. If you happen to be one of the lucky fellows in the former East, make that about 28%. And gas is still around 9 bucks a gallon here, the one thing that hasn't risen in price dramatically over the last couple of years, but still over twice as much as you guys pay even with the recent spike in prices..... And last aside, promise..hee..hee...About 2 or 3 times a year, when trade talks with the US come up, the news media here literally drools...because the bastards have taken us for everything they could, and they know they'll get another shot at bleeding us even more financially...when will we ever learn? |

Sabre: Don't say I didn't warn ya...as a matter of fact ES is a wealthy rancher in the San Jose area...he specializes in goats. He didn't get it at Haight-Ashbury though...too many "mind expanding" pharmaceuticals until he was rescued by the social worker who married him. Those two guys have never stopped being green with envy because I had a thing going with the queen of Denby's cheerleaders circa '58-'59. Gawd...she was somethin'...loved the sub races at Belle Isle...hard to imagine that she's in her late 60's now. I'll always be grateful to the UAW...they set the model for the MI Educ. Assoc....plus, if it hadn't been for the UAW my dad who was DPD wouldn't have had the pension he had...and for damn sure I wouldn't have the retirement benefits that I have. Small world...I graduated from WMU in '63, did my doc there in '72 and was on faculty there '90-'95....hell, I coulda been your fourth grade teacher...or worse, you coulda had ES as a biology teacher...or worse yet, OD running your computers...he thinks computers are still using Fortran. All right, all right...as ES keeps pointing out...I did indeed own a Valiant...I made the mistake of marrying my first love...she wanted the Valiant right after we got married...I traded in my '56 Ford Sunliner which was a guaranteed chick magnet to get it for her...it shoulda been my first clue...well, actually the second clue! I was all ready to go ex-pat until I met my wife (she has aging parents in IN) about ten years ago...haven't spent much time in Europe though...mostly Latin and South America...have good friends in Venezuela who had offered me a university teaching job...hard times there now though. Well...like I said welcome aboard...be careful with the other two fruitcakes though...they are quite a pair...one likes to sleep in leotards and the other drools a lot whenever he hears the name Sharon. |

Sabre: Good to read a rant that actually makes sense for a change. GB rants all the time, but nobody (including him) ever knows what he’s ranting about. Although he never became a male cheerleader at Denby, GB did have the privilege of dating one. Ask him about HT…. Glad to see you posted your resume. That’s one thing less for GB to rant about. What GB didn’t tell you about ES is he was able to leverage his "mind expanding" pharmaceutical experiences into a job as a shrink. Turns out there’s not a lot of difference between a psychologist and a spaced out hippie… except now he gets $300 per hour to space out while someone else talks. But the goat farm is real. If you ever need some organic goat milk ES is the man to see. And I know all three of us say thank you for your service in the military. Who knows where this country would be without guys like you protecting us. |

Sabre: Please join us as WE rant all over the place about growing up on the eastside. OD is very sane and a true family man ... GB lives in the high rocky area of AZ and will not remove an extra small leather helmet that has painted banana peels on it that he has been wearing since 1972..... he his a strange one and please ask him about HT ... he did have a problem while attending DHS with an attractive cheerleader (SR) who had absolutely nothing to do with him ... remember it is GB who sold a sleek white ford sunliner for a Valiant .... we don't need to say more .... Ask GB about a recent music award that he received ... |

Hi guys....Thanx for the invite to rant with ya....I'll be more than happy to bore you all to tears. As far as buying a Valiant go, and the reasons there for....you put it best, a harbringer of the hell to come... -Getting 300 dollars per hour while someone else talks...should get some politicians, more per hour AND much more talking! - So GB, what about HT? - Thanx for the atta-boy concerning my military service. The guys in now do much more than I ever dreamed of though, God protect and bless them. - Male Cheerleader, sounds like a pain in the a.., well never mind. -Male Cheerleader, hmmmm, had said cheerleader been Prince Charles would have been a royal pain in the....sorry about that, shouldn't have gotten me started! |

SE59 made GB get the Valiant supposedly for economic reasons. But in reality she knew a little thing like marriage wouldn’t make an old tom cat change his ways. And without his ’56 Ford Sunliner (or should I say sin-liner) GB had no chance with the ladies at all. Yes GB… tell us about HT. Sabre: You never said what street you lived on. Hope it wasn’t Fordham. |

GB: How Quickly Sabre figured it out - So do tell us more about the real relationship that you had with HT and this nonsense about SR was just a cover...As she explained it to OD and myself it was only with the help of a '59 Navigator that she finally figured out who you were.... |
