Western has had a great season, But CMU beat them and is still undefeated in The MAC. Ball St. has to play Western and Central still. Both games will be great. I wonder what happens if all 3 teams end up with 1 lose, who goes to the Champ game? |

Actually Central and/or Western could have a MAJOR influence on the BCS. Let me show you this scenario. 1. Central and/or Western defeats Ball State 2. BYU defeats Utah 3. Oregon State loses one of its last three games (Cal, Arizona, Oregon State) 4. Michigan State beats Penn State If that happens, regardless of what Ohio State does, Michigan State gets and at-large BCS bid (my guess would be the Orange or Sugar Bowl). |

haha...yeah...sorry. Gotta say though the MAC has been fun to watch this year. Lot of good football being played there...still some REAL BAD football too, but the top teams are pretty good. It really adds to the excitement. |

If MSU wins out, they're going to the Rose Bowl no matter what. If they don't win out, they aren't going to a BCS bowl, unless they beat Penn State and Ohio State loses again. The performance of MAC teams matters not at all. Sparty's destiny is in its own hands. |

Glowblue, 1. Let's keep any more MSU talk on the MSU thread. 2. You are not correct, MSU needs to beat Penn State AND have Ohio State lose in order to go to the Rose Bowl. With that said, congrats to the Broncos for knocking off another Big Ten team. |

If all 3 top MAC West teams end up with 1 loss (meaning BSU beats CMU and then WMU beats BSU), the tiebreaker scenarios are hard. First is conf. record...obviously out the window. Second is head to head...no go there, since each team beat one of the two other teams. Third is combined record of each team's opponents, so strength of schedule, basically. I'm too lazy to figure that out (and you can't just yet, since everyone has games to play). I think CMU and WMU are both going to be hyped to play Ball State, since all 3 are playing for the right to represent the MAC West at the MAC championship game, and WMU and CMU want to wreck Ball State's perfect season and BCS dreams on the way. |
