Are you telling me that we have 3 June birthdays! No way, this is too wild. How perfect. Kismet. Coincidence. Goosebumps are the best. Astrology is one of my interests. (Message edited by det313grrl on November 13, 2008) |

Margie, how in the heck do you think you could go too far with us? Huh? At this point in my life, insults roll off me like water off of a duck. If indeed, you really insulted me. Nah! You did mention the Cobras? Why? I think I know a player from the Cobras. I'll wear a big sign at the reunion that'll say - 1KD. Okay? You wouldn't recognize me if I wore a picture of me from the days at the house. Does anyone remember anything from those days, for sure? I have no hair or teeth and wear coke bottle glasses. Ha. Where'd ya' git the pictures of the Melody? Yes, the seating was changed. I can't remember exactly how, but I think front rows of seats were removed for dancing/partying much like at the Eastown. One of the reasons I liked the Eastown so much was because there were only about 10 rows of seats at the back of the main floor. We'd go in with sleeping bags and find a place to camp out on the main floor, usually stage right, and lay around tripping when we weren't climbing on the stage. The Melody wasn't in the best of shape to begin with because of it's previous incarnation as a porn house. |

I'd love to attend an event at the Bohemian if it's our crowd and a few others. I'm more interested in everyone seeing the place. If it's to be a blowout, I'll likely pass. Obviously, everyone can make up their own minds. I plan to spend a weekend with Gar Wooders, close friends, significant others and a handful of people closely associated with the house and this website. I can party at most anytime and place I like. I think the weekend we're planning shouldn't be overwhelming nor a blowout. The fun will be in the people, not the parties. |

hey, hey ,hey, 1K what is the matter, you do not want to fall over stinking drunk, dance on tables, insult bartenders and wait staff, make the bathrooms smell beyond smell,, shout and holler, walk crooked or not at all, and laugh at the stupidest jokes anyone can tell and oh yeah after all that a take a month to recover? Hey! hey! hey, I am with you 1K, great conversations, some over the table talk, some under the table innuendo's, some great song/music sharing, some dancing, even some fishing sounds good or should I say great! Yeah! to a little buzz blended with good humor renewed friendships and just the simple fact that each and everyone of us are some of the luckiest people in the world. Oh crap is that the full moon talking again Hey! hey! hey!l (what song was that?) |

What did we ever figure out about the night he was at the house? Was he there with Jeff Beck? That was the night I went into the self induced coma. |

Stoney, that's just hilarious, and so true! 'If you think he was there, then by golly he was there'. So f*@+k**g true! OG, did you ever think (as I have) that all of the crazy s+*t that happened at the Gar Wood was just one huge trip. Breeze may have spiked our water. We were definitely drinking the kool aid. |

This is for you former A2'ers, namely Ruth, Detgrrl, OG and Stone. The north side of South U in the 1300 block used to house Bicycle Jim's at the west end on the corner of Forest, and then Steve's Diner and Pizzeria Uno on the east with a shop or two in between. Stone you must've lived upstairs at 1313 South U if you were above Steve's, the Korean diner. Steve's has been gone for about 4 - 5 years and the space is now a Japanese restaurant called Rich J.C. It looks the same as Steve's - a fluorescent lit diner counter of 50's vintage, clean and spare. Bicycle Jim's is now UMMA Offsite @1301, next building east is a new condominium called the Amsterdammer, then Rich J.C.@1313, then Sadako, Japanese restaurant @1321, then Kang's, Korean restaurant @1327, then MaizenBlue (their spelling), Deli @1329. Do you guys remember the small alcove like alley next door to Bicycle Jim's? It was a favorite spot to step out and burn one while drinking at BJ's, without standing in the open on the sidewalk. The alcove/alley was only about 25 feet wide. It's now the Amsterdammer condominium of 5 or 6 stories. I'd never thought you could fit a real building in such a small space. They probably sold for a ton. Across the street on the south side of South U, the modern white apartment building between the Mud Bowl and the Bagel Factory has been vacated for the new tower which will take the whole block. Stone, do you remember your address on South U? |
