Det313grrl,

I mentioned the Garwood thread to my sister inlaw who was over earlier tonight for a party. She grew up in Grosse Pointe Park and now lives outside Ann Arbor. I had a feeling that she may have been somehow a frequent visitor at Garwood.

After giving her the Readers Digest version of the Garwood thread, she then told me she had spent quite a bit of time at Garwood. You'll have to excuse me, sometimes I feel as if im eavesdropping when I read this thread. Garwood belongs to you folks, but it's like a good book that I can't put down. I digress.

You gave a little background earlier about your age and time you were at Garwood. My sister inlaw mentioned that she often thought of a young girl she new at Garwood, and said that she went by the name of Suma.

I told my sister inlaw that she might find the Garwood thread interesting, and that she may possibly know some of you. I know that she may be reading this tonight, so I'll leave it up to her if she chooses to post.

Hey Hoover. More good news! Bushmark's uncle 'Zero' has approved plans for OPEC to send my 5th cousin 'Zingy-al-Faarkuh" over to help in the New Years festivities at Mar-a-Lago. He'll set up in the beautiful stables/paddock area so he can keep an eye on his camel. Isn't that great?!!

Servite76, sorry I can't say I recollect that name, as unique as it is.
Maybe Ruth can help your sister-in-law.
I'm glad you're digging this thread, it's out here for the world.

I want to send this out to everyone.

Hey Old guy, I have an idea how we can race our canoes. On the North face of Pikes peak is an unused ski slope. I figure I'll give you a head start since I am familiar to this area. Whoever makes it to the bottom and back up to the top first wins. We partied with "Cool Running" last night, thats how I happened to think of it. Canoes are shaped something like bobsleds aren't they? :^)
Have a cool Yule Ya'll!

I'm really happy that everyone liked the song! You are a cool and crazy bunch of people, and it was a real pleasure re-living your memories a little bit and writing it. Excuse me now, I have to take dunk in the pool in the basement. ;-)

Ruth and Marge, that guys lighted suit doesn't compare to the outfit Ruth wore at the Gar Wood. It also can't compare in its initial impact. If you saw Ruth walking, ghostlike, throughout the house during a blowout party with the lights low and the music wafting through the hallways(not to mention ingested substances), there's very little to compare. An apparition! That's it. A ghostly apparition. Thanks for the photo Marge. Great reminder. I believe Suma was posting here some time ago. I guess a search of the archives is in order.

Nope, Sumas didn't come up in a search. Must be my incredibly accurate memory. The same memory of the Yellow Submarine in the boat house and the Stones playing on the lawn at the house.

Rkbl...give Ruth your agent's contact information. OG, Gus, probably Neil and a host of other players would love to get some harmonica licks in on your song, I bet. I know I wouldn't mind throwing a few guitar parts in there myself. Collectively, we've got a 'motherlode' of talent here and I think we should record it, somehow. See, you put one tune out there and already guys want to copy it. Nothing will top your original but come on....this could be a Garwood Anthem and if that's the case (gets my vote) Garwood players would be honored to be part of it. Hey, if I remember correctly, didn't Hoover do some stuff on the harp?

Hey Stnfrnt,
Anything anyone wants to do with the song is cool with me. We, or I can make a track that is all instrumental for folks to practice harp to, and, hey, make up more lyrics. Fire up that slide guitar to Stnfrnt! Make it a 20 minute song ... a talking blues that never ends, like a conversation that changes every time it's played. Everyone can work on lyrics, spoken or sung. It's just a fun thing.

I don't have an agent, I'm willing to give Ruth any contact info that she wants. I would post my email address here, but I'm afraid of it being harvested by spammers.

Sure, I'd perform. I'd need all the help from you guys that I could get though. A little slide, a little harmonica, drums, guest vocals....

And whether its a performance or a recording is dependent on whatever is easiest for Ruth the great organizer.

And a I slept with Hoover parady could be done.

Hoover was a mover bam! bam!
