Thanks Jcole for the tip and yes, it does look like the Marilyn Monroe thing. Good thing you were sitting at the time.

SJ, I was never at the Alinosi's on 6 Mile, but we had one up on the corner of Kingsville and Kelly for a long time, and then it moved up north of 8 Mile on Kelly in the strip mall with the Italian import store. I think that may have been Bommorito's.
Let me know if you hear back from Kevin or Tim

Brock lived over near Mack and Charlevoix. His dad had been a cop, and commited suicide at Angel Park.Had a bunch of sisters and brothers. Most of them were my parents god-children.I think there were 8 in all. He hung around the neighborhood starting in about 9th grade. I dated him briefly, and then we were just friends. He joined the Marines and then married Gail Grammatico. That Brock?

Brock may have died at Heilmann, but his dad was Angel Park. That was their old 'hood. I knew the family from the time I was a baby. There are a number of sad stories there. I wonder what ever became of Gail and the baby. Last time I saw her was at Brock's funeral

Here's a pick I found elsewhere on the forum, from the 50's. You can see the Alinosi's sign, and I'm pretty sure it is across from the old Sinclair station.

St_Juder: There is an ice cream shop on Mack just north of Vernier that has Alinosi ice cream and candies. The place on 6 mile produces candies and ice cream for a few restaurants and candy shops in the area

Alinosi, imho, is still the richest (highest butter fat) ice cream in town....well worth the trip.

Hey St.Juder....The REAL Gary Trupiano I remember from the hood hung out with Jim Mazzola and the Hendricks.
He entered the monastary late 1980's after a break up with his wife ...Mary Kay Hendricks!!!!!
[Mike,John and Dan Hendricks] were his inlaws.
Are you really Gary Trup????

I just want to gloat to all of you that I went to the market this afternoon, and they had Alinosi's Pistachio ice cream pints, as well as chocolate, pineapple/orange and a couple others AND spumoni slices. I restrained myself and only bought one pint of pistachio and it is still the best I have ever tasted. So creamy and rich with real pistachio chunks. I will be heading back for spumoni once my body recovers from this pint.
