A great convincing win for the Wings over the San Sissy Sharts tonight. It was no contest

Yes, Z, it was a good game to watch...a nice regular season win against the would-be upstart sharts. Of course, no real offense toward any regularly lurking SJ thread reader is intended here.

That weather was through here yesterday and it was fantastic. Now we have ice and snow approaching. Just Mother Nature's way of reminding us who's in control

We're supposed to get heavy rain tonight, possible thunder showers. Kind of springy, I guess.

7K: Legend has it that broken up area in the above photo was the spot where the Eastwood gang dropped their cache of weapons when Frank the janitor interrupted what could have been a major riot with a rival gang from Fordham. The amount of weaponry was so great and heavy that it left a significant dent to the blacktop surface. The surface was never repaired.....It was to be left a reminder what the destructive power of stones have and that we as sisters and brothers of St. Jude must never resort to that type of destructive force again.

KR, all I read was "St. Jude ... resort"

You just reminded me we need to get back to our plans for the St. Jude Family Fun Center with Bowling. We could have some nightly Easter egg hunts in the tunnels.

Mkap: 6th grade sounds about right. I remember coming back from lunch all sweaty and going up to those furnaces of a room up in the gym and barely drying off by the time school let out. Man those rooms got hot.

Thanks CFG tug at my hearts strings a little harder. Paczki's, Polish food, Bowling, why don't you just throw in a Tiger game and really rub it in.

Heading to the city for my annual retreat with the Passionists at St. Paul of the Cross. I first went there with my senior class retreat from ND in 1962. Started going again in '85 & have only missed a couple of years since.

A perfect place for quiet reflection.

Hey Eastburn, you going to Chicago? We have been having Passionists fill in down here in Nashville for priests who are out of town. Thought they were great.

Am going on my first Silent Capuchin retreat next weekend - can't wait - no cellphones, no computers!

JC, we're trying to be an inspiration to you. Well, I'm sure CFG is. I, on the other hand..............

Laing, I'm going to the retreat house on Schoolcraft & Telegraph in Detroit. They sold the monastery to (I believe) some orthodox monks a couple of years ago & expanded the retreat house to accomidate the few remaining priests. They kept the 10 acres or so of land so one can walk outside, weather permitting.

EB: A while back we discussed P.I.M.E and I think the only place anyone could remember this being was somewhere in SW Detroit. I swear I recall them having a rather large faciity somewhere in Oakland County on either 14 or 15 Mile road. Maybe someone there remembers the place.
