I was wondering what do they use the bottom of the church for now, or is mass still said there? |

Okie: CFG can answer your question with a lot more detail. I believe the church basement is used for banquets, funeral lunches, etc. but not Masses. |

JC: You got it! Living down the street on Maddelein, you must have passed those St. Jude Chapel windows a million times. One more to go everyone. Eye spy with my little eye....Name the mystery eye. (Message edited by kellyroad on March 08, 2009) |

Not a halo Look at the picture from a different perspective. What you think is left might be right. What's right maybe all that's left. |

Hi Okie - The lower church is used for gatherings such as the Usher's Party, the Holy Thursday Pot luck dinners, and Chili Cookoffs. Usually for any parish occasion, where the gym would be too big and the Parish Center too small. It's also used for meetings for the parish retreats and for entertaining visitors as we did last year on Mercy Sunday. |

Glad to see you're back, CFG. Did you have a peaceful retreat? You didn't call me for a drive by, so I'm assuming you enjoyed yourself. |

It was AWESOME. Loved the silence - took a bit to get used to, even at mealtimes, but it was a piece of heaven. Thought of all my slackers and sent a few up to the Big Guy for you! I will definitely make return visits to the Capuchin Retreats! |

So, are we planning a big party to celebrate our 10,000th post? Should be sometime early this summer. I wonder if that's a record on DY. Thanks, KR (as I recall) for getting this started. |

Eastburn: The St. Jude thread would have fizzled if it were not for the loyal posters who care about St. Jude Parish now and in its wonderful past. 10,000 posts is just around the corner. Hopefully, we can all get together some day not just in cyberspace. |

#5 still needs to be identified correctly. Hint: You'll find a clue by searching an early photo in the St. Jude Church/School Nostalgia archives. |
