Southfield (WWJ) -- There have been a number of rumors and rumbles about the Detroit Lions changing their logo. Did the NFL leak the new logo? A new toy truck on NFLShop.com gives a glimpse of what the logo could look like. There's no word on when the team may unveil the new logo, or if they will. Meantime, the Lions will play the Green Bay Packers in the annual Thanksgiving Day game at Ford Field November 26th. It will be the 70th Thanksgiving Day game and the 19th time the teams, whose Thanksgiving Day rivalry began in 1951, have met in the annual game. Detroit's overall Thanksgiving record against Green Bay is 11-6-1 (.647). The game will begin at 12:30 p.m. and air nationally on FOX-TV. Tennessee beat the Lions 47-10 last Thanksgiving. http://www.wwj.com/Detroit-Lions-Logo-Leaked-/4074823

The offense leaks, the defense is porous, so why not? |

The only difference is that on the real one, the tires of the truck are flat. |

They need to change that playful, pouncing kitty silhouette a bit more. Despite the improvements, even the new one looks like it would get pecked to death if it ever had to fight the Arizona Cardinals logo.

So the big hoopla is over a little detailing on the logo ? Another one bites the dust. |

If the Lions don't get there act together I don't know how much longer we will be able to keep the Thanksgiving game. It would be a shame! One of the great traditions in sports. As a matter of fact I got mad back when the Packers said they would no longer play the Lions every Thanksgiving day. |

The team seems to be going in the right direction (unless they take Stafford) so give it time. As for that logo...it looks like 1990 all over again. Just bring back the old school lion with the silver and blue bars behind and be done. |

The old school logo looks like crap and I have no idea why people love it so much. I am not saying this one is any better but I hate the old logo. Give me the one that was created for the Detroit News, now there is an innovative one. |

That old logo with the bars is pretty cool, but it does look a bit dated. The Detroit News one is all right, but a bit "cartoony". This whole topic is a bit stupid though, as if the logo is what needs changing. |

The Red Wings went through some really bad years and never changed their logo. |

really, i think we'd settle for a logo featuring the wizard-of-oz lion on a pogo stick if they'd just win! |

Those changes are really unecessary, why even mess with it? Like "Bubbles" or not, it's somewhat of a tradition in term's of logo and uniform. The lions are one of the oldest franchises. Pre Merger and dawn of hideous logos. Look at our division, two of the teams have not so "innovative" one letter logo'd helmets. Are the Bears and Pack going to change their logo? Doubt it. It's the black and blue division and thats why Tampa Bay got ousted a few years back. I like what Schwartz said in regards to the Thanksgiving-Day game; "Were going to put a barbed wire around it" nuff said. |

Unnecessary? Yes. Welcomed? Yes. Bubbles is a tradition but so is losing in this town. If you have won a Superbowl in the past 50 years than we can compare ourselves to the Bears and Packers, better yet win more than 1 playoff game in 50 years. Not a big deal either way but I welcome the change. |

get rid of the black trim, outline, accent... we are NOT the oakland raiders. but then again neither are the bucs, the falcons or any other team that thinks that adding black makes them 'bad' (asses)... |
