We had a similar thread last year but it's gone. So let's try again.

I have recently picked up
Marc Cohn - Join The Parade
Okkervil River - The Stage Names
Blue Rodeo - Small Miracles
Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals - Lifeline
John Fogerty - Revival
Of course Bruce Springsteen - Magic
His wife Patti! - Play It As It Lays
Appleseed Records 10 year anniversary - Sowing the Seed
Steve Earle - Washington Square Serenade
Dropkick Murphys - The Meanest Times

All of them excellent. I wish I could see Marc Cohn in A2 on Monday, but I'll be dancing my butt off at Bruce. Timing is everything.

This week I've been listening to a lot of Michael McDonald for some reason. I have no decent explanation. That includes Doobie Bros McDonald as well. Sadly, I have also been listening to Hall & Oates. I think watching all the Yacht Rock episodes may have something to do with this.

For JohnLodge- A movie scene:

David: Hey, Paula.
Paula: Yeah?
David: I gotta tell you something. I'm really excited about it. Uh, for the first time, today, I woke up, I came to the store, and I - I feel confident to say to you that if you don't take this Michael McDonald DVD - that you've been playing for two years straight - off, I'm going to kill everyone in the store and put a bullet in my brain!
Paula: David, what do you suggest we play?
David: I don't care. Anything! I would rather - I would rather watch "Beautician And The Beast". I would rather listen to Fran Drescher for eight hours than have to listen to Michael McDonald. Nothin' against him, but if I hear "Yah Mo B There" one more time, "Yah Mo" burn this place to the ground.
Paula: You're such a smartass. Get back on the floor!
[Paula walks away]
David: [cough-mutters] Ah-fuck you!

Is this thread really about telling everyone what you are actually listening to, or is it another edition of "Hipper Than Thou?"

Ravine, good point. Similar observations can be made about many other DYes threads. I admit wanting to broadcast appreciation for (what I consider to be) fine music.
