Americana? I just listened to a bit of them on You tube and it sounded like regular old indie rock to me.

Fear – Toad the Wet Sprocket

I did not listen to these guys at all back in the 90s.

I love the childhood vignette in “Is It for Me.” I cannot pretend to know what “Butterflies” means.

A couple years ago, my 1995 Cavalier Z-24 (Shirley-Flo) clicked over to 300,000 miles. I decided to drive her to the GM assembly plant in Lordstown, OH to celebrate. I compiled a CD of various tunes to accompany me on the journey. I chose some tunes for obvious reasons. Others represent moods more than anything. The list is below.

1) The Cup of Life – Ricky Martin [Yes, I really wanted that 300k]

2) Einstein on the Beach – Counting Crows [Reminds me of the movie I.Q., & my license plate was a version of Wahoo!]

3) Bromanders 100-Ars Polska – Vasen [Written on the occasion of the 50-year b-days of a couple – a celebration of length & time]

4) Count on Me – Sheila E & the E-Kids [Most of the time . . . .]

5) Star Trek: Deep Space 9 Theme – Dennis McCarthy [For that feeling of exploration]

6) Enchanted – Stevie Nicks [“Well, I hope you make it.”]

7) All Systems Go – Donna Summer [Cheesy, but fun]

8) Time To Move On – Tom Petty [One of those obvious ones]

9) Route 101 – Herb Alpert [Great road trip song]

10) Goodbye Stranger – Supertramp [Another one of those obvious ones]

11) Isn't She Lovely? – Stevie Wonder [An eye-rolling indulgence]

12) One Piece At a Time – Johnny Cash [For a laugh]

13) Soul Bossa Nova – Quincy Jones And His Orchestra [For that let’s-get-moving feeling]

14) Roll On – Romney Getty [Great bluesy road trip song]

15) Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough – Michael Jackson [I didn’t]

16) How Long – Dire Straits [A little over 301k before she died :-(]

17) Deadbeat Club – B-52's [The ultimate hot summer day, windows down, go to the beach, & skip school/work song]

18) Send Me On My Way – Rusted Root [It was hard to tow her to the junk yard when she finally died]

19) Riding In My Car (Car Song) – Woody Guthrie [My lips are tingling just thinking of it :-)]

20) Bad As I Am (Shirley-Flo's Theme Song) – Great Big Sea [“As bad as I am, I’m still here.”]

Just finished listening to the whole thing. I sure do miss that car. :-(

Do you ever hear any Susie Cowsill, Pam? She has sung with a whole lot of groups since her childhood, still singing the really beautiful harmonies.

Sadly, Barry Cowsill died in Katrina.

Yeah, I heard one of the Continental Drifters albums.

Bill, the oldest bro, also died in the past few years.

A "Weather" night:
* Mysterious Traveller
* Sweetnighter

Last two days:
* Larry Coryell - Introducing the Eleventh House
* Billy Cobham - A Funky Thide of Sings
* Junior Wells - Alone & Acoustic
* Buddy Guy - Feels Like Rain
* John McLaughlin - Extrapolation

I listen to a lot of music virtually everyday. Somewhat of an amateur collector. Music provides nice background. Not much of TV watcher.
