Saw the Raconteurs at their Ann Arbor show summer of 2006. They were really good live, much better than I expected. They did a really cool rocked out version of Cher's Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me) with Jack doing the vocals. As for the new album, I'm starting to warm up to it after a few listens, really like the rocker Salute Your Solution. | ||

Now playing Galactic with Boots Randolph from Thursday night. They were at Lee's Palace in T.O. I guess they must have recently played Detroit as well. Heavy New Orleans chunk-a-funk! They hold their own against "The Funky Meters". A Meters reunion (every 5 years or so?) can't be beat, but Galactic bring it on. They sound harder than they used to, but Galactic still put on a tough, funky show. Boots is cool, but I still miss the Houseman. | ||
