Ravine...

It could be a "I'm hipper than thou" thread. I like it (and many others), because it helps me learn about who I am talking to a little better. Whenever I am talking to someone I like, I can do a search of their name, and learn about them by clicking on the topics they posted in. It's fun. It helps me find other people I feel I can connect with. Kind of nice when your about to go for a drink or dinner with someone for the first time.

Other than that, I think it's just small talk.

Ottmar Liebert (& Luna Negra). Different, sometimes seems a bit pretentious, but overall, refreshing and charming.

"Lick Your Fingers Clean" - Off the anniversary release of Aqualung by Jethro Tull. An odd and fun song I had not ever heard until that anniversary release came out.

Sean: Clearly, you have delved deeply back into this thread, to have seen my snarky comment.
But please understand; I've been as guilty as anyone, at times.
As an illustration-- although this example may show how decidedly UNhip I am-- my current fascination is with Dino Saluzzi & Anja Lechner's "Ojos Negros," which is kind of, well, I'm taking a blurry-eyed stab, here, Argentinian gypsy-folk music-tango-based songs performed on bandoneon (sounds similar to an accordion) and cello. It doesn't sound like what one might think of when one hears the term, "tango;" of course, the presence of the cello imparts a bit of a "classical" sound to it, but only because we are musically-socialized to attach that connection. I am really enjoying it, partly because it is totally different from anything else to which I listen; like most of us, I listen to what I would call "beat music." (Jazz, rock, my Sinatra records... all "beat music.") This music is not that. Of course, of course, I realize that it has a tempo, and I realize that even music with no drums can have a beat, but I'm saying that this music is not for toe-tapping, finger-snapping, or head-bobbing.
The one possible down-side is the fact that it may be TOO relaxing. I had it on in the car, recently, and when I got out to go in a gas station, I felt as though I had just risen from a long period of hibernation.

I reversed that effect by switching to The Who's "Live At Leeds."

many of us would have understood, and applauded your fine selection of such Hauntingly Beautiful music.

Please do "Loose" at near-ear-bleeding volume, once, for me. 'Preciate it.

Which one, JL? We listen to Kiln House a whole lot, and there is a live one in Chicago (maybe it's called Live in Chicago?) that Mr. Oldred loves.

What I have is obviously live but I'm not really sure what its called as a friend burned it for me. It just says "Fleetwood Mac Live" in a sharpie marker on it. It sounds like they are in front of a pretty small crowd. My friend is into that "trading" of live shows from jam bands so who knows.
