Quote: "People - slow down while driving through store parking lots. Not only during this busy season, but all the time."

You said it. I hope this person that ran into someone gets the hell sued out of them, plus jail time.

It should be a $1000 fixed non negotiable fine for speeding in a parking lot where pedestrians are present.
Little kids, depending on the age, soon as they are out of the car, will just break away and start running. All it takes is some fucking zero on their cell phone driving like they are the only person on the planet.

Quote: "T Mobile commercial is the spitting female image of Jack Black...his sister, perhaps?"

I seen that and wondered that too. I thought it was him in drag at first. Maybe it is a 3D animated overlay to get folks talking about it? Looks just like Jack Black though.

Please count me in on that one, too. Some folks are lousy drivers, to begin with, and then they wanna talk on their cell-phones, too.
C'mon. We might as well admit it: Using a hand-held cell-phone, while driving, should be illegal.
Or is it already illegal? I dunno. I hate phones, so I may be a little late, on that one.

This could be a new thread, but I think that kids younger than four should be on some kind of leash/harness, at least around parking lots.

How many times have you stopped at a cross walk, and have seen a tot bolt out of those opening automatic doors ?

Of course, the mother is pushing a full shopping cart while on the phone.

Get rid of the phone, you're life is not that important. And think of you're kids for once.

I own a cell phone, the bill is paid and I haven't seen it for 6 months and that is ok by me..

There is very little so urgent that someone needs to call me while I'm risking life and limb behind the wheel. I had a job once where I had to carry a beeper, it burnt me out on being "accessible". It got broke a few times somehow :-)

I think in Dearborn it is. I wish they'd outlaw them altogether. Something is screwing up the bee population, some theorize it may be the radiation associated with cell phone transmissions.

If there were a study conducted on cell phone usage, I'd gamble that 99% of the communications are just bullshit. "Where are you?" "Well I'm over here" "Oh yeah?"

Well maybe not today, but the next time you are out driving, make a mental note of every other driver and what they are doing. I'll bet 50-60% of them are yacking on the phone. But the worst part is - the teenagers who see Mom and Dad doing it, are now fresh behind the steering wheel doing the same thing.

I agree with you guys. Children just dart. It's something built into their mechanism. They have no fear. My grandma used to say that a grown up needs 4 eyes. Two eyes in the back of their head. And it's true. When we have our grandson with us, my attention is on him 100%. My eyes do not leave him. If he got hurt on my watch I could never forgive myself.

The talking on a cell phone while driving is crazy. I noticed 4 drivers the other day on I75. All were gabbing on their cells while driving the speed limit. What is wrong with these people?

I have a cell phone, but only a select few have the number. I use it only if I must. If I'm on the road, I pull over to make a call. If I'm driving and get a call, I pull over.

I think the ones that talk while driving have no respect for themselves; therefore, they have no respect for the public at large. They're out there using dangerous weapons while driving @ 70+ MPH. There really ought to be a law!

The rudest (and creepiest)was at the funeral viewing of our friend. His granddaughter pranced up and down in front of the casket talking non stop.

Rant..The Pillsbury commercial for cookie mix where the little kid throws a hissy fit because his dad ate a cookie that he left for Santa. If I had a kid that acted that way, I'd have sent him to his room til he was old enough to move out on his own.

Ya know, one thing that really pisses me off. When you buy gas and the pump slows down for the last 50 cents worth and that takes just as long as the first $19.50. I wonder how many people have been robbed because of this.

"The day they call me Norm, I switch to Hollywood Market." I wonder if Norm is still the butcher at Holiday.

Rave: those portable air compressors that plug into your car's lighter so you can inflate a tire on the road. Yea!

Rant: cheaply made compressors that have switches assembled with insulation-piercing electrical contacts instead of solder. Boo!

Bigb23,

Michigan Scanner awards are the difference in price plus 10 times the difference in price...not less that $1 nor more than $5. Meijer is a great place to catch it because they carry so many products and have constantly changing prices.

Technically, everything is supposed to have a price tag. Since your item was not marked, I think a $5 coupon is a fair compromise.

Carol, I didn't know we worked in the same place. The guy I work with will put his arm on the shelf next to him as if that will somehow obscure the giant vag on the screen. Oh, was that a rant or a rave?

Rave/Rant - the better, over the air TV weather, is on channel 7.3, WXYZ DT. But do they HAVE to play that same F-ing music over and over and over and over and over and over ?

Rave/Rant - the guy who wrote that music might be getting massive royalties. (Please share it with the people who suffer through it).

Rant! Just how aggravating is it that when you're reading a news article online and an advertisement on that page pops over and extends into your reading view?

That has happened so often to me lately. So much so, that I don't care what they are advertising, if I needed it I wouldn't buy it anyway just for that reason! How annoying!
