181 Reasons to Stop Compromising

181 Reasons to Stop Compromising
quote:

If the Republicans don't want to be a part of the process, then the Democrats shouldn't continue to bend over backwards to make them happy. That's the stance that Ring of Fire's Mike Papantonio takes in his latest Pap Attack, where he lays out all the reasons to end the compromise and just write legislation that will help solve problems.

Headzup: Phone Bank For Tom Geoghegan
quote:

Taking a page from the Obama campaign, the Geoghegan campaign has set up a virtual phone bank where you can log in and make phone calls to voters in in Illinois from anywhere in the country.

So, I'm asking for your help. Help me not have to swear loudly when I mention my House member's name. And help yourselves. Having a man in Congress who has spent his entire life fighting for workers, while at the same time, Republicans are putting a full court press on unions and the Employee Free Choice Act sure wouldn't hurt.

Stimulus Pork - Fact and Fiction
quote:

Mike Papantonio of Air America's Ring of Fire appears on "Your World with Neil Cavuto" (with guest host Stuart Varney) to talk about the stimulus package that was passed by the Senate. While the Republicans are whining about the amount of pork projects that slipped into the final version, Mike reminds us of the $170 billion worth of projects they've added over the last 8 years for bridges to nowhere and teapot museums.

Obama Must Be Bolder Than FDR
quote:

Franklin Roosevelt's aggressive approach to the economy helped pull the country out of the Great Depression. However, a few years after he started his new spending policies, he gave in to Republican pressure and stopped. Things went south from there, forcing him to restart these programs.

Mike Papantonio of Air America's Ring of Fire talks with author and columnist Jim Hightower about Obama's need to be bolder and stronger than FDR was during the Depression.

BLACKWATER : GLOBAL THREAT
quote:

After $1.3 billion in government contracts and controversy over the killing of innocent Iraqi civilians, Blackwater Worldwide is moving on. The powerful military corporation has no plans to slow down after what has been an extraordinarily profitable decade.

"The greatest threat to our world and its peace comes from those who want war, who prepare for it, and who, by holding out vague promises of future peace or by instilling fear of foreign aggression, try to make us accomplices to their plans." - Hermann Hesse

Whistle blowing is a baby and bathwater concept. A person can make a lucrative career of fraudulently raising claims in the hopes of hitting a jackpot without any risk on their part.

I wouldn't count out Huckabee. Not Mike. David. America loves their Christian fanatics especially when they are sick torturers and murderers of dogs. That will appease their innate desire for torture and waterboarding that Bush and Cheney satisfied.

And, America will swoon when big ole' boy David dons his chinchilla moo-moo to public events!

The Autism - Vaccine Link
quote:

Over the last 8 years, the Bush administration consistently sided with the pharmaceutical industry, and ignored all of the evidence that vaccines were causing higher rates of autism in America. But now that we've got a president who actually embraces science, we might finally see some action on this issue. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. discusses this issue with David Kirby, author of the book "Evidence of Harm - Mercury in Vaccines and the Autism Epidemic: A Medical Controversy."

As you may have heard, late last week, the mercenary firm Blackwater had realized that their company image and brand was so badly damaged that it was time to take drastic action. So, they pulled up their bootstraps and did what any image conscious war profiteer would do. They changed their name. Yes, Blackwater is no more. Now they are "Xe". Yes, "Xe". Pronounced "zee", like the letter Z.

And what does "Xe" mean? Who the hell knows? But who says private contractors can't show their impressionistic and abstract side?

But, a name change isn't all that the newly minted "Xe" has in store for us. They've released a new television ad that reflects their new arty, mysterious direction. Take a look.

Blackwater's First Television Ad For "Xe"

Blackwater's First Television Ad For "Xe"
quote:

I have to admit, I love the new direction. Bold. Brash. Synergistic.

Why think of the civilians Blackwater guards slaughtered in Nisoor Square when you can get lost in the wonderfully vague world of "Xe".

And I applaud Blackwater for not pulling a Prince and changing their name to a symbol. Though I must admit, it would have been fun calling them "The Mercenaries Formerly Known As Blackwater". Now that I think about it, there's no reason why we shouldn't just call them that anyway.
