I am going on a little trip to Manistee and wanted to know if there are any good pit stops on the way. I am starting in Dearborn Heights the major roads that I will be on are I-75 to US-10 to M-115 to M-55.

Midland is a nice town with some decent restaurants, and Clare is a nice place to have a look around.

Stay away from the Manistee Casino.....worst odds in North America.

There's not many places to eat on M-55 from Cadillac to Manistee. Unless you ski or fish, not much to see or do either. I used to visit this area quite a bit to fish for steelhead on the Manistee, and ski at Caberfae.

Doherty Hotel in Clare is good for lunch, and in Cadillac, the Sweet Shop has Snowbird candies, really yummy little white chocolate and pecan kisses. Those are my favorite stops, but I am sure there are plenty of others. On 115 last summer before primary elections, one of the high points was the campaign signs for Shooter for Sheriff. It looks like he didn't win, though.
