I've pondered for years and years how the general population of Nazi Germany could be seduced and induced to follow that great evil.

Now I see it played out around me daily.

Make a portion of the populace feel some loss or some sort of pain, discomfort, or even merely fear of those. Then point to the convenient scapegoat, the guy might even admit it to the camera! Step back and marvel at the depths of depravity even the most staunchly moral a character can dredge from the dark shadows of their merely human souls.

Instant justifiable hatred towards an indefensible class of individuals...voila! So sweet in multiples...

That is all I hear in the news today...and bump into the friction in society every time I step out in it.

Nah, I was speaking specifically of the very clear divide-and-conquer actions that so fill our media today.

Last year they taught us to hate anyone who was responsible for the gasoline prices.

Later on, it was bankers.

Then industrialists and their private jets...nevermind the banker's jets are bigger, faster, and have to fly all the way to Switzerland before they stop.

Anyone who bought more home than they could afford, or even worse those dreaded property flippers.

Those dumb enough to pursue the American dream...

...who's next on the hate target list?!

It is near time for a redux of that old Pogo cartoon...we have met the enemy, every time we look in the damn mirror.

The economy tanked before Obama took office. It took more than 2 months to wreck the economy. Smell the coffee....it's a new morning and the Republican hangover will go away.

It is SO funny that you folks are proving my thesis...that even you all are so consumed with the divisions between you to not notice the larger picture.

It is quite dim of you to continue these divides, when they are falsely created merely to keep y'all divided. Great sheople to let yourselves be duped that way.

I know, I've been a victim of these tactics as well.

But the premise of this thread still stands.

We are being played, and fiercely. There is someone, or some group, obviously creating these situations where a scapegoat is revealed in EVERY situation for the populace to gather together and unite in common, justifiable HATRED.

When it is mutual, it sets up a situation where the populace will invite in a solution that appears on the surface to solve their immediate threat or pain...but will be a huge mistake to follow.

We must be forever diligent in these times to NOT allow any hatred in our hearts...these days, it is increasingly easy to allow LOVE to dry up leaving our hearts empty, hollow vacuums for hatred to seep and creep in.

Cheers all...I hope this resonates with at least some of you!

I suspect people could post nursery rhymes and that would prove your "thesis" in your own mind. A spat between Danindc and CCbatson is not indicative of the population as a whole. In fact I’ve never come across two personalities that could so easily be defined as outliers as Dan and Bats.

quote:

Just who is this nefarious force manipulating the mere populous so? Do they have tanks stored at Fort Grayling? Are they adding fluoride to our water?

Perhaps some of your so-called scapegoats are actually, oh I don't know, culpable for bad things. Who is out there shouting up with hatred exactly? Anger and hatred are two different things.

I think you are peddling intellectual homeopathy. "LOVE" and "HATE" and talk of our precious hearts is a lot of fuzzy nonsense. The economy is in trouble because we didn't think with our heads, not because of a lack of love in our hearts.

You wish to think, nay feel, otherwise and that's cool. Everyone has a right to let Peter Popoff cure their cancer.

Sometimes it's the political parties that define groups and then pit one group against the other. Better that government protect individual rights instead of championing one group's rights at the expense of others.

Related- After Hitler had poised groups against each other, he either had the opportunity or created a situation to politically profit from his efforts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =kOO2jTLFq8w&NR=1

Geez...Benfield, have you never read Eric Blair's 1984, and the history behind why he wrote it? Or Machiavelli...heh, the record of those in power doing whatever they need to do in order to KEEP it is way too long to deny.

We are being duped into hating each other, or easier yet merely hating various 'other' groups, each represented usually by one very bad person or easily tagged group...this has been the scheme since time-out-of-mind.

Create some boogie man, then say YOU have the only cure to the fears he installs in the sheople.

Laugh all you want. There are riots fuming in people's hearts and minds, it is only a matter of time before they play out in reality. We are percolating and simmering not unlike the late-60s...I am not happy to feel the increase in temperature and pressure from those I engage in conversation around town.

Then the Air Force will have their unruly crowds to tame with the new portable microwave populace-cooker...I suspect it will be when the currency finally fails.

They are actually late in introducing the Amero and deploying the subcutaneous commerce chip en masse...perhaps they realized they needed a more friendly face on the government than the last guy they installed in the top position.

Keep up the good work ignoring this all...just remember when it all comes to pass!

Wow you know George Orwell's given name. That's smart in a kind of eighth grader doing a book report kind of way.

The problem is that I see no evidence of riots forming in anyone's hearts and minds. I see a MERE humanity (thump thump) that continues to evolve and endure. The only sheople cowering in fear of boogie men are dullards like yourself fretting the fictions air force boogeymen in your head with their "subscutaneous commerce chips" and what not. Enjoy your doom bunker.

You failed to learn anything in eighth grade, apparently it was too early for you to read then.

Maybe you should actually re-read it, the context and content may just strike you in an unusual way now that you are older and hopefully more aware of the world.

So nice to see you've been a faithful mere reader here.

“The most recent evidence ... suggests that the economic expansion remains on track.” -Ben Bernanke

We were told that Bush's Wall Street bailout money would be more than enough to take care of the banking problem and that Obama's stimulus package was all about infrastructure. Those programs must have been flaming successes because the President is now suggesting we buy stock.

“What you’re now seeing is … profit and earning ratios are starting to get to the point where buying stocks is a potentially good deal if you’ve got a long-term perspective on it,” -President Obama 3/2/09

Americans vote for 'springtime in America' and 'hope' while the prophets that turn attention to the writing on the wall are ostracized or punished because they make voters realize that the emperor is naked. They point out the scam and make elites nervous.

When Congress voted for Bush's Wall Street bailout that ninety percent of Americans opposed, a bridge was crossed. Congress and its financiers realized that they could do as they wished and they would be voted back into office anyway.

Speaking of attacking groups; State troopers in Missouri are being instructed that people who oppose ILLEGAL immigration. mention the Constitution, or vote for third parties are more likely to be terrorists.

Maybe the aircraft carrier sign reading 'Mission Accomplished' was referring to having produced a docile voting base. $825B + $785B +$431B of our childrens' wealth being transferred to the bankers and bureaucrats and we are told that it will all work out. To quote the Mogambo Guru, "Hahaha".

Oladub,

That was earlier reported to be part of the short list definition from Homeland Security...but I heard that from some on-line documentary and have no firsthand knowledge or confirmation of it yet.

Back then it was carry a copy of the Constitution, so the amplification and word altering from your report invite closer scrutiny.

Do you have any background on the Missouri thing? I don't want to see this on Snopes.

Gannon, Allegedly, someone in the Misssouri State Patrol leaked an article he received from the Missouri Information Analysis
Center (MIAC) "which provides a public safety partnership consisting of local, state and federal agencies, as well as the
public sector and private entities that collect,
evaluate, analyze, and disseminate information
and intelligence to the agencies tasked with
Homeland Security responsibilities in a timely,
efective, and secure manner.
MIAC is the mechanism to collect incident
reports of suspicious activities to be evaluated
and analyzed in an efort to identify
potential trends or patterns of terrorist
or criminal operations within the state of
Missouri. MIAC also functions as a vehicle for
two-way communication between federal, state
and local law enforcement community within
our region." http://www.dps.mo.gov/homeland security/brochure.pdf

This is a copy found on some sort of gun web site.
http://www.ar15.com/forums/top ic.html?b=1&f=5&t=843847

I have read comments ranging from 'this is so preposterous that it must be fake' to someone who claimed to have confirmed it. Some doubt is raised because of spelling errors but I notice in the paragraph copied from the Missouri web site above that their were two spelling errors in it. There is active discussion about this on a Ron Paul web site since they have been identified as possible terrorists too. Don't forget that some Ron Paul supporters did throw snowballs at Hannity. http://www.ronpaulforums.com/s howthread.php?t=183388
