The Solution for Whiny Republicans
quote:

Republican governors are whining about President Obama's stimulus plan, and political strategist Paul Begala has a simple solution for them - Don't take the money! Even though these governors need money more than most states, they still can't find anything better to do than whine about Obama's plan. Mike Papantonio of Air America's Ring of Fire discusses this issue with Paul Begala, who says that we don't need to compromise anymore than we already have.

If they did, it would go up to the higher court. You mean that they failed to address it.

I'll address that when you're able to understand how the court system in the USA works.

Many of us learned that in high school.

My criticism is not that the court is violating its' scope, rather that valuable resources are squandered when an item really could have been addressed by a lower court over an issue that is not of national or constitutional importance.

Is it illegal to destroy those tapes? Remember that certain activities are exempt based on the concern for national security.

Asbestos companies? Weren't they put out of business already? Even though only a small minority of products truly cause health problems, and none would do so in the future armed with the knowledge we now have.

Between Barack and a Hard Place
quote:

A lot of people in America viewed Barack Obama's presidential victory as a major step towards racial equality in America, and in a sense, it was. However, this doesn't mean that racism has been defeated, which is obvious when you look at the numbers on employment, incarceration, and even housing. What's even worse is that Obama's victory could be seen as a new form of racism, where only African Americans who meet a certain set of standards are deemed acceptable. Air America's Mike Papantonio talks with author Tim Wise about what Obama's victory really means for race relations in America.

Chuck Norris Runs First Ad For President Of Texas
quote:

Cross posted at Huffington Post.

As you may have heard, the man who has survived the Octagon, who lead the Delta Force, who was Missing In Action not once, not twice, but thrice has thrown his hat into contention to be the next President... of Texas. Not from Texas. Of Texas.

Now you may be thinking, I didn't think Texas had a president. And you'd be right. But, that's nothing to stop a forward thinking former action star. Chuck followed up a paranoid conversation on Glenn Beck's radio show with a even more paranoid post on World Net Daily about Texas seceding from the union and the beginning of a "Second American Revolution".

He even mentioned that should that happen, that he may run for "President of Texas".

Well, I'm happy to report that the Lone Wolf has heard the call and is reporting for duty! Chuck has released his first campaign ad announcing his candidacy for President of Texas. Take a look.

Chuck Norris Runs First Ad For President Of Texas
quote:

Alright, to be fair to Chuck, and since he could easily kick my ass I'm going to be, he did say that the "President of Texas" line with Glenn Beck was just a tongue in cheek joke. Fine. You were just kidding. I'll accept that.

But, what's disturbing, as his World Net post shows, is that he clearly isn't kidding about Texas seceding from the United States.

See, Chuck is throwing a Glenn Beck suggested viewing party for an upcoming Beck special called We Surround Them. To promote the show, Beck is using this completely "not crazy" graphic

quote:

About the viewing parties, Chuck said:

Thousands of cell groups will be united around the country in solidarity over the concerns for our nation.
Hold on. Did he just say cell groups? Cell groups!?! Maybe Chuck's taking Congressman Pete Sessions's suggestion that Republicans should use a Taliban-like insurgency a little too seriously.

Wait a second. Now that I think about it, Pete Sessions is from... Texas! Holy crap! It's going down! Texas is seceding! And they're being led by Walker Texas Ranger!
