Where are you in the political spectrum?

http://www.politicalcompass.or g/index

I found myself to be very slightly left and very slightly authoritarian, nearly dead center. I would have guessed I'd be more right and libertarian. Not that I put a lot of weight to this type of internet analysis. It's just fun.

I fall dead center of the Left/Libertarian quadrant, almost exactly where the Dalai Lama is.
So, I guess I'm in good company. It's about where I thought I'd be.

Ah, this again. They've improved it slightly.

-6.62, -6.21; just south of Gandhi...same as last time.

It is always good when the test works twice correctly!

I'm down there a little south of Ghandi as well. Some of those questions, though. How about "The most important thing for a child to learn is to accept discipline"? How does one define discipline? And, why THE most important thing? That puts the idea out on the lunatic fringe, if you ask me.

right 1.12, libertarian 2.82; or using the Pythagorean theorem, 3.03 units from the center and 11.4 units from the nearest (SE) corner.

Most US politicians are on the line between the SW corner and the NE corner. The SW corner represents what we would think of as left and the NE corner as right politically. The SE corner would be pure libertarian economic and socially. The NW corner would be socially and economically authoritarian.

(edited to add) In other words-
right = economically libertarian
left = economically authoritarian
up = socially authoritarian
down = socially libertarian

Nope,my nightmare is that the mindset of an anti-government doctor that collects most of his income from the government might infect the general populace.

A. Not anti government...anti socialist bloated government in the land of the free.

B. Less than 25% of my practice is Medicare (and decreasing), and regardless, it is for SERVICES RENDERED at rates wrongly determined unilaterally by said government.

This was an interesting thread until the last eight posts. I already posted here as a 1.12, -2.82 but to help get this thread back on track, I'll make the following observation. 9 out the 15 who have responded are deep into the SW quadrant and pretty much along the SW-NE axis as denoted by similar numbers (e.g. -6.62, -6.61).

On the left side of the page, there is a link about the 2008 presidential race. http://www.politicalcompass.or g/uselection2008 . Every one of the mainstream candidates is along that same axis and withing the NE quadrant. Only Cynthia McKinney, Ralph Nader, and Dennis Kucinich are along that axis in the SW quadrant. If 9 of the 16 who posted here are somewhere around or to the left of Kucinich and are representative of the Democrat Party, then why is it that Democrats choose candidates such as Hillary and Obama who are so much closer to the Republican clump than Democrat voters?

Fun fact: the standard of living for the average Russian was higher under communism than it is now under capitalism!
