I hope Norris gets his wish and becomes the president of the secessionist country of Texas. Hopefully he can convince the rest of the gun-crazed RW nutjobs in the US to move down there, and then they can fight pitched battles against the Mexican drug lords, since they have a lot of built up frustration that obviously needs an outlet. Total duration 14 minutes: The Man Who Sold The World - Ronald Reaganquote:About a month ago, historians ranked Ronald Reagan as the 10th best president in US history. Apparently these folks have forgotten just how much damage "The Gipper" actually did to America. When you look at his track record, you can trace almost every aspect of today's economic disaster back to Reagan's policies of deregulation, tax breaks, and complete lack of oversight for industry. In spite of this, Republicans today are still crying for the good ol' days of Reaganomics. Ring of Fire's Mike Papantonio discusses the truth about The Gipper's presidency with William Kleinknecht, author of the new book "The Man Who Sold the World: Ronald Reagan and the Betrayal of Main Street America."

All of those liberally spun catch phrases attributed to Reagan can be more accurately and simply expressed with the following phrase; Reagan reversed creeping socialism and brought us closer to liberty/free enterprise. (Message edited by ccbatson on March 12, 2009) |

A perfect example of the libs taking something out of context with that Hannity headline. If Godowntv were more than a complete fraud and a joke, it might be offensive. As it is, it is just plain laughable. |

You see, once these former private companies ask for and accept a bailout, they instantly become second handers and looters. What does that mean? They go from being capitalistic (producing quality services and goods at low prices/cost in order to succeed) to thievery. What does government expect to happen? |

The Deficit Scare Gamequote:George W. Bush and Dick Cheney both declared that deficits don't matter. Reagan ran a deficit of 17%, while Bush Sr. ran one of 12%. Even though Obama's deficit will only be around 8%, the GOP has engaged in a new deficit scare tactic to convince us that Obama's stimulus plans will do more harm than good. Given the lessons of history, and the fact that Clinton turned Bush's 12% deficit around to a 1% deficit in 18 months, we can't worry too much about deficit spending. Ring of Fire's Mike Papantonio appears on Your World with Neil Cavuto to discuss this issue. |

Evan Bayh's "Name That Obstructionist!"quote:Cross-posted at the Huffington Post Indiana Senator Evan Bayh has made it official. He gave us what the country been waiting for. What the country has been pining for. He announced the formation of a "Moderate Dems Working Group", or to put it in layman's terms, a group of 15 or so Bush Dog... I'm sorry... Blue Dog conservative Democratic Senators with the ability to block any legislation that they deem too "change-y." And thank god they did! Getting a Democratic agenda passed with obstructionist Republicans and a brain dead media was going to be just too damn easy! It's not like the last election was about change or anything. Universal health care? Not so fast. Employee Free Choice Act? Fat chance. Meaningful environmental legislation? You're kidding, right? What's great though, is that apparently there are three or four of Bayh's "Conservadems" that are afraid to let their obstructionist freak-flag fly. Bayh originally discussed the hidden when he made the announcement on Morning Joe. But, still looking for more publicity for his gang, the Senator today launched a new game show called "Name That Obstructionist"! Take a look.
So, I'll leave you with question. Who, do you think, are the "Senators Who Must Not Be Named"?

The Daily Left (Text) - Brits Knew Saddam Posed No Threat- A British diplomat has come forward and made it clear that the British government has a paper trail that proves that both the US and the British government were fully aware that Saddam Hussein posed no threat to the world.
- In environmental news today, a poll released recently by Gallup says that, while a majority of Americans still believe the seriousness of global warming is “either correctly portrayed in the news or underestimated,” an all-time high of 41 percent of those polled say it is exaggerated.
- Despite the protestations of a few congressmen, the House voted overwhelmingly to pass bonus tax legislation Thursday afternoon.
