Sorry, but I just couldn't wait! The official start of the NFL season starts this weekend, and I am so happy about it!

Even with the obvious struggles scoring in the red zone and stopping the passing game, the Lions are 3-point favorites over Green Bay this Sunday. I'm seriously trying to figure this out. Maybe it's because they're at home?

-3 is the standard HFA in the NFL. Take GB on the money line. You'll get paid.

I don't even think the Lions will score 10. Hansen can get a field goal, but no way Harrington can get us even close to scoring a TD. Well, special teams can get us a touchtown.

Lions 28 - Packers 17. On their way to 10-6. And we'll all forget about the preseason.

And the Rams will win the Super Bowl.

It's the NFC Central(eeeer I'mean North)
Detroit 8-8
Chicago 7-9
Green Bay 6-10
Minnesota 6-10

Detroit 42
Green Bay 7

It won't even be close. The Lions defense will knock Favre into retirement and the offense will prove that its a force to be reckoned with. Joey continues to throw a near perfect game and Jones will rack up 150 yds on the ground.

Brett Favre is horrible in domes, the Lions score two TDs, one on special teams and one on defense.

The Lions are usually pretty good against the Packers at home, even in bad years. But lose the contest at Lambeau 99% of the time. I wouldn't cry into my crappy domestic swill-beer just yet.

I can't believe the people that predict what a regular season is gonna be like based upon a preseason record. Indy was 0-5, yet I would be shocked if they aren't in the post season. The Lions have way too much talent for another dismal season to take place.

Hey! I said 8-8 and for the Leo's thats a great record. To much talent(err what). I think the Lions management did a great job in promoting the Lions talent. All the skilled positions are pretty average.... receivers, running backs, quarterbacks, safety, middle line backers.

Somebody tell me where all the great talent is.

My predictions:

Lions 24 GB 17.

K. Jones 106 yards rushing, 1 TD.
R. Williams 118 yards recieving, 2 TD's.
J. Harrington 14-22 228 yards passing, 2TD's, 1 int.
C. Rogers makes it through the game without breaking his collarbone.

For the season the Lions will be 9-6.

I have them at 8-8, and given the NFC North is weaker than ever, that might give them a shot at the division. Then, promptly getting whomped in the 1st round.

Go Jeff Garcia! Only 5-8 more weeks!

What's with the running plays on 3rd down and long when they were only up by a touchdown?
The defense was playing well, but you would think they would have more confidence in their QB/offense.

Myers has been my bitch since I met him. Just as I stated, the Lions would EASILY win this game. Myers was talking his Vegas bullshit on who to bet on, because he doesn't have the heart. I believe, and I enjoyed the Lions kickin' some major ass today. They will be in the Super Bowl come January, you heard it hear first. You can listend to Myers if you want, but you've seen his track record.

Sport, puh-leaze. One game doesn't make the season. Against a team with a weak defence Detroit still had trouble scoring. If most of those penalties were not called (and I'm glad they were as it showed Detroit was in fact beating them out of the gate)the score would have been 7-3 and folks would realise that the offence is still weak.

Yes a win is a win is a win....good for them. that said, this offense is obviously a work in progress...big time. They is no rhythm...very disjointed and sputtering. And I'm not just talking about 2 yard completions on 4th and 4. You can't look away from the tv for about 5 seconds (which I did quite a bit) without an immediate 3rd and 8 facing the crew....Kevin Jones had some consistent 3 yard gains through traffic, but is there any means to get him just a shade more of an opening??? jeez. I'm hoping they get more in sync as the season progresses, as the dumpoffs to running backs and tight ends can leave the offense a bit short as things drag on (and I'm not saying Pollard isn't a great catch, but let's spread it around).

Give DJ credit for a great defensive gameplan, the defensive line ran alot of stunts...exposing the Packers rookie guards.

The offense is a work in progress...but we saw some good things. TT has brought some diversity to the playbook...you could see his influence, alot of motion, different reciever sets...you gotta like the unpredicability factor. We did not see enough of that last year...case in point being the trick fake punt formation...we were gonna punt, but it just gave the Packers something extra to think about...and forced them to burn a timeout.

I read something this off-season that suggested that Marcus Pollard was one of the NFL's most overrated players. I dont know about all that, but it sure looks like he knows how to read coverage and find a zone. With all the attention that our big, physical recievers will draw...Pollard is going to be our underrated big play guy. I think Joey can learn alot from Pollard...explain to him how Peyton read coverages. Manning uses a fake pump that freezes defenses, I would like Joey to develop that. His fake pump looks half ass, Manning really sells it.

The offensive line has got to step up...they dont even have to be great, just good. JH needs more time. They say the offensive line takes the longest to come together as a unit, and since we got two new starters (one rookie)...they get a pass, but not for long.

Jeez, Kevin Jones is a bruiser...dont underestimate how those 2 and 3 yard runs wear down the interior of a defense.

Although our big 3 did not have alot of catches (their presence on the field opened up things for Pollard...and Joey took what the D gave him)...you get the feeling that the big play is always around the next corner. All it takes is one blow assignment...or the defense begins to cheat another way...as long as Joey has protection, they cant cover all this talent.

I'm not concerned about the receivers getting open, I'm concerned about Harrington getting them the ball.
