Get the cornbread warmed up as these two teams along with Houston vie for the top pick in next year's draft. Green Bay by 10. |

Another game that everyone in the country will see what a mess the Detroit Lions are. As bad as the Packers are, I just do not see the Lions winning one in Green Bay in December. |

Attention************** This just in....for those of you that were wondering if Mike McMahon would have been the answer for the Lions....well he just got snatched off the field and benched...2 interceptions ran back for TD's. Just think we could have been stuck with him too. Now back to your regular thread post... super d(motordetroit) |

Garcia's girlfriend, the former playmate of the month, called WXYZ during their afternoon sports show. She ripped Detroit fans and their conduct at Ford Field yesterday. She claimed Cleveland fans had more class. She ended by telling Art Regner that it is "just a game", and that we need to chill. |

quote:5-2 Packers in OT
I was thinking that the NFL would call the game after regulation (ala Bud Selig) and just the Pack a 1-0 win(the first in league history!) for lack of interest and in deference to Brett Favre So there's my prediction: 1-0. Thank God I won't be tempted to watch it. I'm sure that game won't be on here. (Message edited by D-Day on December 06, 2005) |

Oops! It's the late ESPN game........Guess I'll have to fill that Sunday with something more productive. Game's too late to get drunk and not care..........still say 1-0, though. Maybe Czar and CaseyC might come over for some euchre.......... |

Actually, Dday, 1-0 is possible. That's the score of a forfeited game under NFL rules. Maybe the Lions' plane will go to Tampa Bay by mistake and not show up at Lambeau Field. As screwed up as that team is, wouldn't surprise me a bit. |

Just couldn't wait to start the next Lions thread. LOL Well I'm no longer a Detroiter (finished the move Tuesday), so you can hold onto the Lions for all you care for. I just can't support them anymore. Everytime I think it can't be bad, it gets worse. Case and point, their upcoming loss to 2-10 Green Bay... by 20 points. Well... Go Pistons!! |

Ive been out of Michigan 6 years now. Still sucks when the Spartans piss away a season, still sucks when the lions piss away a season...and people wonder why I run. The Lions are mine forever. So Garcia has an attractive girlfriend? Well, if she was a playmate than I have to assume she is. I have never seen her. My point here is that I thought Garcia was gay. He talks so effeminately that I thought that he had to be a little sweet. Anybody else notice this? At any rate, there will not be a lot of scoring in the game tonight because you have two of the worst teams playing and it will f'ing freezing at Lambeau Field. As bad as the Packers have played this season, they will summon up what's needed to beat the Lions. Final score: Green Bay 16 Detroit 6 (Message edited by royce on December 11, 2005) |

I have to say that watching Rogers toss Gado was pretty fuckin' cool though. Did anybody else here the announcer after the game say "Whoever coaches these Lions next year is gonna have one heck of a team." I was scratching my head as I turned off the tv, wondering if I missed something. |

The announcers on the radio said Detroit has a great team with lots of talent, but the coaching staff is not on the same page. Defense looks ok, but RW needs to go, he is slow. The Lions need to call Pete Carrol over at USC and use their offenseive play book. No runs up the middle at USC. |

Sport, When Joe Theisman said that the coach is going to have a heckuva team, he basically was saying it's disgusting to have so much talent on a team and have such incompetent, unimaginative coaches who run up the middle and throw only screen passes. I hear what he's saying. |

it would be really nice if the talent on the team could actually play pitch and catch without dropping the ball. Kinda defeats the purpose of calling plays at all. |

Those buffooons on the late night ESPN call couldn't say midnight was dark in a coal mine. All three were incompetant boobs. How many times did the play on the field contradict what they were saying? I'd almost swear Theisman just wants to hear himself speak! To make a Lions game even worse than what it is was to toss in this broadcast crew on the job. |

I just don't understand the decision making. It seems so OBVIOUS at home. I know the whole armchair QB thing, but damn.. This season is the Lowest of the Lows for this team and it's fans. I also think the safety call was total BS. Lions would have won if not for that debacle. Better draft position I guess. Maybe grab a WR in that one too. |

...worst call I've seen since I don't know when. It's so indicative of this season...it makes me want to spit. I've never liked Mike Cary, he is the worst lead official in football...whenever he makes a call, he always goes for dramatic effect...like he is some kind of showman...his explaination in this instance made no sense. |

Some great Lion moments in yesterday's game: Williams dropping a well-thrown potential TD pass, Kelly Butler's false start on the first play from scrimmage, Shaun Rogers penalty in OT, Green Bay's fourth string tailback breaking a long TD run, the Garcia QB sneak. Man, so much talent on this team right? |

All you guys are so down on the team. I think they are just three or four more first round wide receiver selections away from a breakout 8-8 season! Honestly, Green Bay vs. Detroit on Sunday night??? I think ESPN would be better off to rerun the classic 1992 Mayflower Dog Show when the gorgeous Llaso Apso named Mr. Peabody shocked everyone by placing SECOND to Spamuel, the feisty unknown wiener dog from the heart of Jersey. Yeah, no idea... But what a great game to televise! Combined record of 6-18 in the closing weeks of the regular season. Wasn't there a women's bowling tournament or a Boy Scout Pinewood Derby race that night? How about yet another show about Texas Hold'em? Or dead air? There's a always dead air! |

Next year the Sunday night game will have a flexible schedule in the 2nd half of the season. The game will be picked a week in advance. This change will keep dogs such as last night's from putting the nation to sleep. |
