Bill Bonds and Johnny Ginger will be appearing at the Birmingham, MI Borders store on Saturday, December 10 at 1:00, where they will be signing copies of Tim's Kiska's book "From Soupy To Nuts! A History Of Detroit Television." Stop by, say "Hi" and pick up a copy or two, which makes a great stocking stuffer or Hanukkah gift for anyone who remembers the golden age of Detroit television.

Used to work at Oakland Hills during a peak of Bill Bonds' wild streak.

Oh the things that rich drunk folk do...

In all fairness, Billy grew up a poor kid in Detroit ...so he should forevermore be addressed as "nouveau riche" ...

If you don't know why? then its two things wrong. (1): You know nothing about Johnny's old WXYZ days, (2): You don't know who Johnny Ginger is.

Uhhm, William X, you might want to check out Ed Golick's web site before you make statements like that.

http://www.detroitkidshow.com/

I've found it extremely informative about the people I grew up with on that B&W TV in my parents living room.

Loved the fact my uncle was a cameraman at Channel 9, CKLW, and I could sometimes visit him at work and meet Cap't Jolly, Poopdeck Paul, and Jingles.

Please just check out Ed's website, I think you owe him an apology.

I have been fortunate to have met most of the stars of the Detroit Kids' Shows of that era. Milky, Soupy, Johnny Ginger, the above posted three.

Since my days at UofM, I've always used as a trivia stumper, Wixie, one of the first shows I watched. I really don't remember Hoody-Doody.

Suddenly, I've an urge to research SKY KING.

Thanks Ed, for all the memories you bring back.

William_x,
Spoke to Johnny yesterday. He sends his love.

Douglasm,
I did interview Bwana Don Hunt. Hopefully I'll be able to work on the article on my Christmas break and have it on the website soon.

Jams,
Thanks for the support!

Thank you, Ed.

I echo the good things people say about Mr. Golick's website. Well researched and put together, and just a heck of a lot of fun. From the land of the "KING Clubhouse with Stan", thank you for keeping my childhood memories alive.
