Looks as though things are still progressing

quote:

The Michigan State Housing Development Authority approved a loan to help finance the $175 million renovation of the Book Cadillac Hotel in downtown Detroit. Terms of the loan weren't disclosed. Plans call for the vacant hotel on Washington Boulevard to be turned into a 455-room Westin Hotel. The loan will be repaid with proceeds from the condominium sales.

Fiending, here!

When's the new closing date? When will workers be on-site? When will I be able to sip a martini in the Motor Bar?

I didn't think it would be that many rooms in it. Are they still developing it as mixed use condo/hotel project?

Broken: I think the last line of the blurb answers your question:

"The loan will be repaid with proceeds from the condominium sales."

The blurb on the financing delay said it'd be late January. So hopefully work will start in the next 2-3 weeks

Broken Main,

Yes, it's still mixed-use, but not all that much. The bulk of the project is still a 455/457-room hotel, with the last few top floors being 66 condominiums units.
