I am so happy for David Kircus!! He's signed a 3-year deal with the Denver Broncos. I wish him the best of luck as I had hoped that the Lions would give him a fighting chance to make the team. Each year I was dismayed that he was cut, and then heartened that they signed him to the practice squad. Sounds like the Broncos are giving him a real chance. (Not to mention that Tampa Bay and Seattle were interested!!!) Kircus heads to Broncos with contract http://www.mlive.com/golf/grpr ess/index.ssf?/base/sports-3/1 136384107112830.xml&coll=6 |

Hooorah for Kircus.... It wasn't so long ago on this this forum that folks were laughing at me beceuase I said Kircus would be picked up by another team.... So far 2-0 on my predictions. Anybody want to jump on the "Draft AJ Hawk" bandwagon I have been driving for a year? Mike Nugent might not have been a bad draft pick last year either given Hansens sore leg at the end of this year. |

Skulker, your exact quote was "thrive in a different environment". Being a tackling dummy on the Denver practice squad hardly qualifies. The guy's a stiff. (Message edited by czar on January 05, 2006) |

most former Lions come back to haunt current Lions and all of us fans. Few greater than Rodney Pete - Lions VS Eagles - 58-37, 1995. Ouch. That one still hurts. It's not going out on a limb to say a former Lion will hurt us from another team. |

Speaking of former Lions coming back to haunt us...how about a Pro-Bowl offensive lineman we let go after making him our first round pick? http://www.detroitlions.com/do cument_display.cfm?document_id =441037 |

Czar: Read the article, the Seahawks made an offer without a workoit from him....I don't think he is destined for the practice squad. |

"Anybody want to jump on the "Draft AJ Hawk" bandwagon I have been driving for a year? Skulker, I have been saying the same things about both Hawk and Nugent...and no one can accuse me of being a Buckeye slappy. Kind of weird, but I've learned over our conversations that we have very similar thought processes (at least in terms of football). Draft A.J. Hawk, he is an immediate impact player. Add him to Boss Bailey, and Teddy Lehman (who should start over Earl Holmes), and you have an excellent, young, and fast linebacking corps. The defense immediately becomes one to be feared, although the secondary would still need some work, the line and LB's would be scary. |

Michael Robinson of Penn State is a senior, if that's who you are referring to. He could be available in the middle rounds. I think Troy Smith of Ohio State is a Jr.. Those are 2 poor mans Vince Youngs! Did anyone see Michael Robinson run over that Minnesota DB, classic!!! Good leaders and they do whatever it takes to get the win. |

Let me start by saying I bleed Maize and Blue. But, Ohio State puts out some premium talent. I was and still am a huge Chris Speilman fan. I think AJ Hawk would be a great addition to the Lions. And Kircus did what he was asked to do without complaining. I think he'll work in the NFL for a few more years. |

Kircus is no better than a special teams/#5 receiver. And he better stay off the sauce as well. |

I'm sure whoever signed him put into their contract some clause regarding his behavior- or at least I hope they did for their protection. And as is with most sports figures that leave our teams here in town, I wish them well EXCEPT for when they play against us- at which time I hope they stink royally. |
