Not sure.

But I did see a sign for Big Tone's Ghetto Fab Jewelry store on the Randolph side of the street.

Conveniently located by the check cashing place because we all know Big Tone don't take no credit cards...

'Merchantganger'__ if you're looking like 'five-0', you ain't gonna' find Big Tone__ Besides 'y-t' with a camera is not to trust-worthy in tha hood'.

Did you offer any CASH for the where-a-bouts of Big Tone?

I will say, the dude that took the pictures is one BRAVE kat.!(Forumers, I would not recommend you take the same actions as the 'picture taker')

I am disappointed that the 'picture taker' did not take a picture of the 'Malise Green Memorial'.

Wonder did he meet 'fast fanny' over at Big Top's Liquor Lotto.

Saw some kind of rah-rah Starbucks pep rally for area employees on the empty lot on Friday afternoon. Didn't stick around long enough to get the story though.

They did do a press release for the new sign. There are no current plans for a Starbucks in Greektown. Not to say that there won't ever be one, just not right now.

Malice is the correct spelling. You could at least get that right.

The more complicated the Starbucks order,
the bigger the asshole. If you walk into a Starbucks
and order a "decaf grande half-soy, half-low fat,
iced vanilla, double-shot, gingerbread cappuccino,
extra dry, light ice, with one Sweet-n'-Low and one
NutraSweet," ooh, you're a huge asshole.

I like the idea behind the sign, but I can't stand the tag line: "Was your coffee loved as a bean?" WTF??
This is Detroit--not Seattle! We don't love our beans here...we grind them down with heavy machinery, and kill and eat the least fit among them.

Laughing at Arab_guyumich's comment -- true. Not a Starbucks customer, and at first didn't get the sign's tag line. "Not loved as a bean?" Is that like "not loved as a child?" What plays in Seattle doesn't always work elsewhere. With families in this area challenged by economics, I think this comes off as poor taste -- like their coffee. And just bad marketing overall.

Its just an ad, chill out, its no worse than the bleeding car on Cadillac tower. Although, the fact that there isn't a Starbucks in Greektown is kinda odd, why didn't they put it over by the one on Congress or something? Ah well

Since moving to Tree Town up the road, I've become addicted to Starbucks...

But nothing will ever be like my daily run to Cafe de Troit. *cries*

Starbucks replacing the old Greek coffeehouses?

Miss those old guys with the card games and that coffee that curled my hair. Just another sign, people seem to prefer an imposed urbanity, rather than the real thing.
