...and here's the link to the article. Though the writer resides in Detroit it is still a breath of fresh air.

I knew the article was already posted. I just wanted to highlight that it was a headline on the front page of MSN. Oh, and to keep current with my picture posting skills. Its been a while.

Gogo, credit where credit is due, that was a well-done photo posting job ... the picture IS the hyperlink, a very advanced undertaking.

Kudos.

"As somebody once told me, this is the only region in America where where you live is a political statement."

The ONLY place?

And is it really a political statement for everyone?

Not a bad column but I wish it was someone other than Rosenberg.

Personally, I liked the article because it is written by a Metro Detroiter who takes the City for what it is, talks about the truth and doesn't sugarcoat anything and yet, you can feel the PRIDE come through.

Like, We're Detroit and we have great things and we have bad things and you know what? It is who we are. We are who we are and we're proud. I love it.

It is WAY more impressive than that broken window baseball from the All-Star game.

I think they bought a brighter spotlight.

I think the best line in the whole articles was:

"I'll stick with a city that is north of Canada, short on glitz and overflowing with soul."

That's a classic quote.

Although it is a good article, it should probably be mentioned that the author works for the freep.

"Detroit Free Press columnist Michael Rosenberg is a contributor to FOXSports.com. An archive of his Free Press columns can be found here."

...preach on brother rosenberg...preach on.
