The man on the street perspective is ok, but a bit shallow. Detroiters have daily non-stops to Seattle. Seattle is being stupid to run such a narrow story. Seattle buys a lot of Detroit iron, don't kid yourself. The town is filled with plane-shop Jonhs, just like Deroit.

I'm in the middle of Seattle right now, and it is rice-burner heaven. Oddly, everyone here still has their Kerry (5 mansions, 2 jets, 2 yahts/many suv's) - bumpersticker/yardsign/window posters still up, so it must not have anything to do with gas mileage or use of fossil fuels.

It intrigues me to no end how facinated visiting media/columnists seem to be with the People Mover.

That photo of Sam Willis on the bottom of the page, I don't know if I want to laugh or cry when looking at that. I definitely applaud him for both his willingness to work and attitude despite his conditions. I wish more of the homeless in the D were like him.

It's refreshing compared to:
"Got any change?"
"No, but here are some still warm slices of pizza."
"I don't want yo damn leftovers."
