Well, in 1980, he was our scumbag. In 2005, he's again our scumbag, this time without a country. |

Does anyone know if Kilpatrick's claim that "only three other people have received the key to the city" is accurate? It seems inaccurate (gee what a surprise). I say this because a relative of mine was awarded the key to the city. With all due respect to Mr. Bettis, you would think that there have been many other individuals in the course of Detroit history that would have also been deserving of this honor. |

...Looks like another erroneous claim by KK (about things big and small) "1974 Detroit Mayor Coleman Young presented the Keys to the City of Detroit to Phil Ranelin, Donald Byrd, Marcus Belgrave, Harold McKinney and Wendell Harrison at the Ford Auditorium for their cultural contributions to the people of Detroit" http://www.ranelin.com/ranelin /awards.html Please add any other key holders that you may find... |

Do we count Santa just once, since he's one man, or should we count each Turkey Day separately? |

I met a fellow who had the key to the city?! One of my clients (now deceased) used to be a huge supporter of Marcus Belgrave. A couple of the parties at his Bloomfield estate were just awesome. I think they make Santa give the key back...off-camera, of course. Can we sue Saddam for it's return too, or is it larger than a small claims value?! |

At least Kilpatrick's office has now corrected themselves to "only three other people have received the key to the city...IN THE LAST 20 YEARS". Now let's see if that is accurate... |

Why was Saadam given the key to the City of Detroit? Does he still have it on his keyring along with the keys to the Palaces? We know he doesn't have the keys to his cell block right now. Saadam looking clean with starched white shirts in Court, BTW. (They got Chinese in Iraq?) jjaba. |

Did KK give Shepherdd, Redus & Travis the 3 young men that saved that trucker from that (tanker on 75 in SW Detroit) fire a key? |

...And now the story has changed once again. The Kilpatrick Administration now says that Bettis is "only the fourth person to receive the key to the city from HIM since he became mayor". Seems that KK and his people forgot about their three other previous awardees, including Louis Farrakhan. Now let's see if this latest claim is accurate... |

Sorry "Ilovedetroit" but you and I ARE NOT related. Let me guess, you have an "explanation" for KK's three different versions of this (latest) story. |
