Okay, here's a dumb question...

Anyone else here an SBXL volunteer? Does your Ambassador coat have 2 zippers in the front? If so, how do you put it on?

LOL......

Direction below assume you are wearing the jacket.

On you right hand side you will find a shell zipper with a female end that is exterior to the flap. On your left hand side tou will find a male shell zipper just inside the flap. The male end goes into the female end and it works like a normal zipper. What may be throwing you off is the fact the liner zipper is right next to the shell zipper on the left hand side.

The liner zipper starts on both sides about four inches above the hem. The shell sipper starts at the hem.

Mine actually has 2 zipper pulls on the same zipper in front, and neither will come off, hence the front of the jacket does not fully open.

Guess I got screwed.

I was thinking it was so you could zip one pull all the way up and open it up from the bottom with the other pull to allow for freedom of movement on the bottom....

But, since nobody knows what I mean, this jacket, Made in China, is messed up. Now I have to step into it like a dress or something to put it on.

This should be nominated as the dumbest post ever, and its also my 500th. Go figure!

After much consternation and zipping and unzipping, I looked on the Internet (go figure) and see that this "2 way zipper" can actually open. You pull both sliders down to the very bottom and then the other side will come out. This zipper allows you to open from the top and/or the bottom to allow for movement.

Guess I've never been out of the city and onto the ski slopes.

Figured this schitt out, up in here in the D.

OMG! Congrats East_Detroit for figuring it out...Have to say, that's actually pretty standard on most zippered jackets and sweaters these days.... Welcome to the 21st Century!

You have to admit, though... the double zipping zipper is an ingenious idea!

Wow, I don't know if I'm more saddened or angered by this turn of events. This thread is and early favorite for the year end awards.

Lowell, you are reading this right?

This might be the unintended result of the velcro generation.

There are a whole bunch of younguns who cannot tie shoelaces.

Glad you got it figured out, East_detroit.

Kick some ass tonight showing the world around our fair city. Be especially white, just for Super_d.

I'm actually working tomorrow 7pm-1am, and Saturday as well, but thanks for the deserved friendly jabs. Its going to be a lot of fun.

No, I am not in "Eastpointe" and no I dont wear zippered jackets (or sweaters, a la Mr Rogers), and I dont know what "be especially white" means.... or I do and I'm playing dumb again to get the truth.

The 2 way zipper is pretty cool, though, I have to admit.

At any rate, kudos to Skulker for obviously being a volunteer... and I hope to see all of you guys at the snow slide this weekend.

Aaaaahaaa... the two-way zipper. Sounds Seinfeldian. :-)

Obviously you don't do much camping, the two way zipper is all over the outdoor world. Tents, sleeping bags, you name it.

I'm picturing you trying to put the jacket on like a dress. LOL

You should get one of those things that go through the sleeves of the jacket, so you clip your mittens onto it and not lose them.

I'm not sure they sell them in adult sizes though. :-)
