I know. And i dont think Auburn Hills would ever get one either.... Well, once Illich builds the new hockey arena, I am sure the NHL All-Star game could be lured here |

Funny comment from same article. Some other highlights and lowlights from the All Star Game: • Sitting two rows ahead of Joe Dumars, I was praying for Flip Saunders to accidentally put Dwyane Wade in with the four Pistons, just to see the expression on Joe D's face. Didn't happen. Paul Pierce getting to play with the four Detroit guys and relishing every second of it ... you know he was out there thinking, "This is just like playing with Brian Scalabrine, Raef LaFrentz, Michael Olowokandi and Orien Greene, only the exact opposite!" |

Cheap shot. I wonder what Mr. Simmons will have to say after NEXT years NBA All-Star game? It's in Las Vegas. Sports books have agreed to accept no bets on the game. |

Bill Simmons' talent of comedic sports writing puts a guy like Mitch Albom to shame... ...and the Clemens kid thing was hysterical. |

That guy is a hater. I can see how he didn't enjoy his time, though. The NBA all star game could be one of the most boring games in all of sport. There might as well have been no one there because the arena was like a masoleum. |

The "Oak wants your cheeseburger" bit was funnier. Loved the ending to the column. All men are created equally helpless in the eyes of their wives I guess. |

I didn't really think the shots at Houston were necessary, but thats just me being a product of where I grew up, I don't like outsiders bashing cities like that. Is Boston perfect? Is it the new Eden? I don't think so. I do love Simmons though, and I read him regularly, and yeah the "Oak wants your cheeseburger" thing made me crack up. |

His running commentary on the NBA playoffs last year was probably some of the funniest stuff I ever read. |

I read that story yesterday, and it was really sad to hear someone speak about a city like that. I haven't been to Houston since '97, but it wasn't all that great when I went. Still, the city should stand up and make some noise about it. |

Replace "Houston" with "Detroit" in that article and everyone here would be going apeshit. Houston doesn't deserve it any more than Detroit does. |
